Hello all!

I'm very excited to say that Smokin' Lips BBQ has been invited to be a part of the Friends of the Bergen County Zoo event "LET IT GLOW!", A winter lights event inside the zoo at Van Saun Park!

The event will run Thursday - Sunday evenings from now all the way through January 15th!

It's a beautiful light show throughout the zoo and a wonderful event for families! Adult $18 children $9 children under two are free.

We will be there Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the season serving our killer 'Q starting tomorrow!

So this was our first major event!

I was asked by my friend Ron Mannino if I would cater he & his partner Joe's company Interchem's 40th anniversary of being in business- to which I gratefully said yes!

What a beautiful party they put on for their employees and what wonderful people they have working in their company!

Everyone loved our food and I was grateful to have been able to provide it!

A big thank you again to Ron & Joe for having us and also Kim and Nicole for helping me throughout the entire process. I have to also thank my lovely Jessica and also my incredible family for stepping up and helping us make this event a true success!

Happy 4th everyone!

Bill Kolb, Jr. Subaru in Orangeburg, NY was nice enough to let Smokin' Lips Bbq Co. cater their 4th of July holiday today!

One of the menu items they chose was our Three Kings Sausage, a recipe handed down from my great-grandfather- I've been making it for over 30 years now!

The pulled pork was "Like butter" & the smoked meatloaf someone said was "Bangin!" haha!

Wanted to try smoking these things so went and found the deal of the century at Foodtown. $5 really??
Although not technically pastrami just about the same thing. Done in 3 hours then 1 hour rest. Internal temp 190° when I pulled them. Important to have NO SALT in the rub because of the brine. I might even soak them for a few hours next time to shed some salt.

They made for incredible pastrami sandwiches with mustard on white bread btw!

Got to give a shout out to my friend Kevin, owner of BIG BAD WOLF BBQ - was my neighbor at the NJ State BBQ Championship last summer. Great guy and helped me out a lot in my first competition.

Paid him a visit and he hooked me up! If you're ever near Philadelphia (Astin, PA), you definitely NEED to stop in here- his stuff is the bomb! Wonderful staff too!
