8. For best results, keep your roses from excessive heat (Especially direct sunlight) and drafts.

6. Change the water in the vase every other day.

5. Arrange the flowers in a vase filled with warm water that contains a good floral preservative that is mixed according to packet directions.

4. While holding the stem under running water, remove about one inch of the stem with a sharp knife or shears. This prevents air bubbles from getting into the stem, which could prevent the bloom from getting the water it needs to stay fresh

3. Remove any leaves that may be underwater after the flowers are arranged. Leaf removal reduces bacteria contamination in the water. Pay special attention not to remove the bark or scrape the stem.

2. If your flowers are not arranged, place them, if possible, in a clean, deep vase of warm water. If you can, leave them in a cool room or refrigerator for 2-4 hours before arranging, this will allow the flowers to "condition".

1. Roses are often shipped with water tubes to reduce transport stress, when you are ready to arrange your flowers, remove these tubes. Make sure that you have received floral preservative with your roses. If you haven't, then don't hesitate to ask for some.

This also prevents drying out while the roses are transported. Roses are a gift, most people want to enjoy their roses, not be held responsible to perform a list of instructions. By having roses delivered in water, it greatly increases everyone’s satisfaction.

When ever possible order roses to come arranged in a water filled vase rather than a box or wrapped. This allows the retailer to properly condition the rose and eliminates the importance of conditioning by you, the customer.

What do I do with my flowers after I get them?Gohome! Getting your flowers into water and into a cool environment isvery important to maintaining the freshness of your flowers. Ifpossible, place a bucket of cool flower nutrient water in your car whentraveling to your flower seller. Placing the flowers in the water forthe ride home can prevent them from dehydrating.
