Make sure to come visit us throughout the year for events and festivals! Billie Creek is a 70 acre park that is home to three covered bridges, 38 historical buildings, and Williams Creek.
NOTICE: The boardwalk is currently closed for painting. We expect it to reopen tomorrow, Wednesday Aug 21.
If you need access to buildings on the boardwalk, be aware that the railings have WET PAINT. Please give our crew a wide berth as over spray is a bit of an issue with today's breeze.

This is from the Orkney History Museum in Krikwall, Scotland. It shows a historic shop and it looks so much like our beloved General Store!

Phew! The store is back together. I'm really digging the new layout and I'm stoked that our T-shirt display is more visible!
It took 3 large guys, a pallet jack, and me to get that large antique Frigidaire moved. It was a beast and it'll likely never move again.
We're short staffed for the next few weeks, so bear with us! We will do our best to have our Mon-Fri, 9-4 hours covered. We will not have any additional hours this weekend.
It's moving day! We got new sodas in stock and need to shuffle things around for a better layout and flow of the store.
Not sure the last time these furniture pieces got moved but it was quite dusty underneath!

New roofs!!! We are so grateful for the continued support of Billie Creek. This past week we have repaired and replaced THREE roofs with sustainable and durable steel. These will provide continued protection of the historic structures.
We have a long way to go and it's been amazing so far. Hope to see everyone at the Block Party on the Square on Saturday! We'll be there with an old milk bottle game with Tshirts and candy as prizes!

Admittedly, this design isn't my best work but we get so many requests for Billie Creek stickers that I somewhat rushed the design. We have other fun stickers too! Neat vintage ones, outdoor ones, plant themed, and more.

Since it was rather quiet I was able to clean up the non slip material on the boardwalk. And place new nails. The new nails are so shiny! ✨

Oh My. LOOK 👀 at this amazing piece done by Annie Frith of Sirkles Studio! She drew our beloved Billie Creek Bridge and then engraved it into a piece of reclaimed wood from the recent Governor's House repairs.
Peek those tight growth rings on this wood reclaim! Our carpenter Joe estimates it's from the 1600s. The reclaim is from a main support joist under the Gov House that was found to be damaged and had to be replaced.
We adore that this piece of history gets to live on as art!

Check out the amazing cleaning job our newest volunteer has done on the older sections of the boardwalk! If the weather holds out, we'll be giving the railings a fresh coat of paint next week. ♥️
Also, please welcome Steve (my Dad!) to our regular volunteer crew! He recently retired and is looking forward to spending time at Billie Creek.
INTERIOR ANNOUNCEMENT! I got to spend hours today with an amazing historian (and volunteer) sprucing up the Beeson Cabin (pictured), the Governor's House, and started the Civil War House. It's so awesome doing these "smaller" improvements as they have a big impact on how the space feels.

We absolutely love that "Thunder" still rides! He definitely helps create some amazing memories at Billie Creek.
Boardwalk updates!!!
We've been maintaining our boardwalk piece by piece but came to the conclusion to replace an entire section. This is likely our plan moving forward for the rest of the boardwalk, doing it in sections seems to work well with our busy event line up.
Our boardwalk got some extra cheery color today! We're reusing these old newspaper displays as planters. I look forward to seeing them grown in and cascading down.
What's it Wednesday?
Came across this pretty plant today while working near the berry patch. I had to reverse image search it to learn about it.
It's Verbascum blattaria, more commonly known as the moth mullein. It naturalized in the US in the 1800s but is considered invasive in some areas of the country. It doesn't have many uses but it seems to feed finches once it goes to seed.

Just have to share the magic of fall at Billie Creek. The leaves changed quickly this year, some trees on our property are already bare.
Well my friends. It appears that we were just a waypoint for Pumpkin. He hitched a ride with one of our vendors and she didn't realize he was there until three hours away. He's currently with a loving family and visiting a vet tomorrow. His final destination is yet to be determined but it's going to be with a family somewhere. He's the most people loving cat that it is what he deserves.
Begone scary dead tree! The crew worked hard to bring this down safely and without incident. Now to chop firewood for days. 🔥

Last day of Covered Bridge Festival 2022. It's a peaceful, quiet morning after such a fantastic and busy day yesterday. We look forward to those we will meet today. Billie Creek has been humbled by the outpouring of kindness and excitement for our return. We appreciate all the stories that were shared with us this week. We love our community.
