Due to Covid-19 social distancing, our temporary venue is the historic Union Church sanctuary at 3 Elm Street, across from the town green in historic Rockville, CT and just one mile from I-84 Exit 67. We book an eclectic mix of Christian performers throughout the year.

This Saturday morning, June 8, will mark coffeehouse director Drew Crandall's 39th "spiritual birthday." Drew was saved on June 8, 1985 during a Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship breakfast at the then-Ramada Inn off I-91 in East Windsor, CT. He walked into the breakfast one person, and walked out a new creation in Christ Jesus!
"I learned about this breakfast through a brief calendar listing in the Hartford Courant," he recalls, "and I was curious: is it possible to be a Christian AND a businessperson? I thought it was either-or. I also love breakfast, so I was looking forward to the meal, too."
During the meeting, a Christian business owner from Long Island, New York stepped forward and shared his testimony of how he came to Christ. "This man's testimony resonated with me. I could relate to him in SO many ways. At the end of his talk, the simple gospel was shared and an invitation was given to trust Christ as my personal Lord and Savior."
In the Gospel of John chapter 3, Jesus said, "Marvel not that I say unto thee, ye must be born again." Have you trusted Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins and the gift of eternal life in heaven?" If not, what are you waiting for?
Over the past 29 years, the simple gospel has been proclaimed at every coffeehouse, and hundreds of souls have made first-time confessions of faith in Jesus. That's the message that will be shared this Friday at Jacob's Well, so bring family, friends, neighbors and co-workers who can be inspired and encouraged by the music and the fellowship, and be "born again!"
If you live "West of the River," Jacob's Well coffeehouse director Drew Crandall will be part of the next AfterHours Comedy House this Saturday, June 8 at the Apostle Gift Store in Southington, CT.
The comedy show will be emceed by "Dr. B," TC Brantley from Waterbury, who is a long-time pastor, speaker, author and comedian. At the end of the show, Drew will present "The Gospel According to Smiley."
Clean comedy such as this is rarely performed in Connecticut and elsewhere. Last month, the two main professional comedians both told the audience this was the first time they had performed clean comedy (nothing rude and crude) and they were astounded by how engaged the audience was throughout the evening. Today, Coffeehouse Director Drew Crandall just signed the contract to bring Rich Heil, Lead Singer of the Christian band SONICFLOOd, to Jacob's Well on Friday, November 1 at 7 pm! It's part of SONICFLOOd's 25th anniversary "One Nation Under God" tour which begins this summer!
This will be an intimate, transparent solo gig in the beautiful 600-seat Union Church sanctuary. Rich has an amazing testimony! Admission will be free, so mark your calendar and talk it up with others!
On March 2, during a Jacob's Well comedy performance by "Dr. B" (T.C. Brantley), I resurrected my presentation, "The Gospel according to Smiley." It was a home run! I then gave this presentation at After Hours Comedy House in Southington and most recently at an annual BBQ meeting of Special Touch Ministries Nutmeg Chapter in North Haven. Here is a testimony from two leaders of this ministry:
"We have seen Drew Crandall giving the Gospel message using his Smiley collection twice now. First time was at Jacob’s Well in Vernon during a Cat Leigh Worship Night.
We were impressed by the simplicity and invited Drew to attend one of our ministry events for people with disabilities and their caregivers.
In May Drew attended our Special Touch Ministry Chapter BBQ meeting in North Haven, Ct. He brought along the colorful Smileys and shared with our Chapter how to use Smiley to present the Gospel Message. After giving the Message a prayer was said giving everyone a chance to accept the message either for the first time or to recommit to the message of accepting Jesus the Christ as their Savior.
Our Chapter Leaders are planning on inviting Drew to come back again in the future.
The Smiley presentation is a good one for anyone, regardless of where they are in life. It’s a fun way, and interactive way of sharing the Gospel. We highly recommend any ministry looking for new and easy ways of sharing the message to invite Drew and his Smiley collection to come and show you how easy it is to do."

Jacob's Well is a promotional partner for a FREE concert by the popular Christian band "Unspoken" sponsored by and held at Union Church on Sunday, October 1 @ 7 pm. A freewill offering will be taken to help with expenses. Unspoken has strong New England roots (in Maine). The last time they performed in Vernon was in 2006 at JesusFest, held at the Tolland County Agricultural Center. That was just before they made it "big!" They also opened Vision New England's GO Conference at the Connecticut Convention Center in downtown Hartford in 2016. This is the only Connecticut gig on their 2023 tour, so please join us for this special evening of praise, worship and celebration of Jesus!

During the week leading into Christmas Eve, this 30-second ad will be airing during morning and late afternoon newscasts on WTIC Fox 61 TV in Hartford, Connecticut. The ad will also air during two Christmas specials on Fox 61's sister station, WCCT CW 20 TV in Waterbury, Connecticut: SILENT NIGHT – A SONG FOR THE WORLD is a musical film documentary about the creation and cultural impact of the world’s most famous Christmas carol, composed in 1818 in Salzburg. Translated into 140 languages, Silent Night caused a Christmas ceasefire in World War I, while Bing Crosby’s version is the third best-selling single ever. The film tells the story of Silent Night, narrated by Hugh Bonneville, with new recordings by global stars in different languages. The prime-time special will air on Thursday, December 23 from 8-10 pm.
