Fans of Summer Singers of Lee's Summit, come support the singers who are participating in this patriotic band concert in KCMO. See details below!

At the end of June, members from four Choral Foundation ensembles will join together to partner with the Pinnacle Winds Band for their America: 250 Birthdays and Counting concert! We cannot wait to be a part of this unique professional concert band under the direction of Dr. John Carmichael.

Featured works include March from the Motion Picture 1941 by John Williams, Flag of Stars by Gordon Jacob, 1812 Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Hymn to the Fallen by John Williams, The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa, and Fanfare for Freedom and Yankee Doodle by Morton Gould.

A yearly tradition, the concert will include the Armed Forces Salute, recognizing veterans and active-duty members of each branch of the U.S. military, along with their families. Dr. Baker will even take a turn conducting a selection with the band on this program. You won't want to miss it!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 at First Church of the Nazarene - 11811 State Line Rd, Kansas City, MO. Ticket prices range from $10 students/seniors and $20 General Admission.

Sights and sounds from our sister chorus downtown Kansas City last night…

The Summer Singers of KC had their first rehearsal of the summer 2026 on a special evening in the BIG TOWN. As we chased little notes around on the pages of our music, a few miles down the road, Argentina and Algeria chased a little soccer ball around the ‘Kansas City Stadium’ in a World Cup match, hosted by our city.

The energy in Kansas City is incredible and our amazing summer chorus is a big part of that! We had singers travel from great distances like Lawrence and Council Grove; and far suburbs like Olathe, Overland Park and Leawood to take part in one of the greatest symphonic choruses in downtown KC.

It’s a historic summer! Tell all your friends it’s not too late to join the chorus… we will accept new singers for 2 more weeks. The first rehearsal for the Summer Singers of Lee's Summit is in the books! We had a blast reading through the Gospel Mass and getting to know each other.

Thanks to Niccole Williams for providing excellent vocal warm ups and leading us in the incredible TOTAL PRAISE, which is sure to be our ear-worm for the summer.

Well, we didn't do so well on the humming level and nobody won the coveted Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Certificate (that was a hard question from Dr. Baker), but our determination is mighty. Can't wait to do it all again this Thursday evening (June 11)! If you are feeling left out, don't worry. We will take late enrollments for a few more weeks.
