I have been researching the history of tea and have had a fellow tea fan share with me an interesting facet of how tea has impacted the world, specifically in regards to women.

Afternoon tea was introduced in England by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, in the year 1840. The Duchess would get hungry in the afternoon. She asked that a tray of tea, bread and butter, and cakes be delivered to her room. This became a daily habit of hers and she began inviting friends to join her.

This gathering for tea became a fashionable social event. During the 1880’s upper-class and society women would change into long gowns, gloves and hats for their afternoon tea which was usually served in other women's homes in their drawing rooms or parlors.

Enjoying tea together became a significant factor in providing women with a way of meeting with each other without the accompaniment of a male. So vintage tea parties celebrate not only tea but also women becoming more independent. HOW incredible is that? Something as simple as tea provided women freedom.

Daily I am praying to make this dream of opening a Tea parlor a reality. And I plan to celebrate the history of tea and women within those walls.

Hey everyone, I am sorry but I am going to have to cancel this event. I will be planning a FABULOUS halloween themed WITCHES TEA PARTY in October to celebrate a little "Hocus Pocus".
As well as an amazing Christmas themed party in early December.
Information on these will be available in September.

Oh my goodness :) Yesterdays tea party was amazing. I look forward to our next one July 17th. Hopefully it will be drier by then :) and I can have it in my garden.
If anyone is interested in joining the next party or if you'd like me & my team to create a party for you, message me. I would love to do baby showers, bridal showers, hen parties....or just because you want to be a little extra 🥳
