As I finish up my new client session prep guide I will be sharing some on here as well!

When is the best time of year to plan your session. Let’s talk specifics-

A lot plays into this- what’s the vibe you’re going for- spring blooms, or sunset golden kissed images or are you more of a fall vibes type person to your core.

Family sessions- when it comes to kids and planning we have to take into account time of year. The sun sets earlier still in the spring vs in the summer when it can run into bedtimes as start times are typically right around bedtime in the summer. I do have some session planning tips for littles and I keep my sessions moving and play lots of games but in my session prep guide I will share some of my personal favorite ways to help make a sunset session go easier.

Fall is also extremely popular for photographers and I will be opening my books in Mid summer for those dates. So knowing that your photographer books up those days quick it’s best to inquire early for those dates.

Maternity sessions- I prefer around 30-36weeks. Just in that sweet spot where you’re showing but not too uncomfortable yet so you can still enjoy your session and comfortably move around.

Couples- anytime of the year, but if your planning your engagement photos plan the time you do them if possible, in the winter the weather is unpredictable also if your including a hobby of yours knowing when the best time of the year for that hobby or special interest is key. Example- say you guys love the river, or the beach while it’s possible to do this in the winter, warmer days might work out better like spring or summer.

Just a few things to keep in mind- all my sessions this year will include a session prep guide and a questionnaire to help better prep and prepare to make the most out of your session and make it a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.

A little update on sessions and policies -

minis-
I’m restructuring my prices and how I do these

Studio minis-
They will be paid in full and include a set number of images- additional images can be purchased.

Pop up seasonal small sessions 50% will be required the rest can be paid in full.

Holiday minis- similar set up but they will be indoors this year.

Full sessions- booking 1-2 months in advance.

Payment plans are also going to be offered. And I am going to start booking for spring in Feb.

If you have had a gallery from me this year or last year and you have not downloaded your files and saved them on your computers and even a hard copy on a jump drive as an extra option please do so.

I pay monthly for all my storage on my galleries and Jan 1st im switching uploading systems and will no longer have access to this gallery system. So please please download all your files!

Lastly, just making sure everyone knows charismas galleries went out to emails the day before thanksgiving soo make sure you did indeed get those!

2024 is right around the corner and I have soo many updates and new things I’m planning and I’m excited for what’s to come. One of the biggest updates is I will only be offering themed mini sessions 1 times a year going forward. I may occasionally throw in one extra during the year as a pop up but for styled minis they will only be for Christmas.

What I am doing instead is exciting, I will be offering short sessions during the different seasons, they will be a little longer then a mini but they will not be styled or have props they will be very lifestyle driven.

I have felt this pull to change the style of my sessions for a while and I’m finally doing it. I will be creating a full little session prep guide with all my session prep tips and tricks during this winter to share with everyone who books so they can best prepare for their sessions.

Lifestyle family sessions 🥰 when I pulled up to the driveway the kiddos were just picking some apples off the tree and I knew I had to get some photos of that at the end.

One of my most favorite sessions and things to capture is family photography but laid back and in a place significant to you and tell a little bit of a story, your story. We still get the posed shots but we have a lot of fun in between and let kids be kids. To me the best way to capture them is exactly how they are in the moment. These two cuties ran all over their property and played with grasshoppers and explored the creek and ended it with picking apples.

I am focusing my family work in 2024 more towards this documentary/ lifestyle vibe as well as couples sessions. I have been shooting my full sessions this fall a bit more towards that style but I’m announcing it now. I am literally so excited!! I will be creating some session prep guides this winter so when you book you will get all the tips and tricks to prep for your session!

If I did a holiday sale this will be off current pricing. My prices are increasing and I’m restructuring packages as well next year so this would be a great time to snag a session at a pretty big discount. Is this something we want? Let me know if there’s enough interest I’ll do one.
