Along with our Creek, Instagram became not-so-insta after 12/2 … here are some throwbacks we THOUGHT we’d posted … we’ve fixed the glitches now!)

How appropriate to have Rhodesian Ridgebacks along our mountain ridgebacks! YES!! We love having your pups stay with us … we treat them as our own!!!! They love the fireplaces, running through our 10+ acres of woods and along the creek … they’re entranced by the bonfire and help immensely bringing kindling. BRING ‘EM! (But call first, we do need to know a bit about our four-legged guests beforehand!)

Think kindling. And bonfires. We’re sharpening the hatchets and splitting fallen wood from the creek forest. Taking advantage of warmish days and cold nights … Think about diving under blankets in front of our two-story stone fireplace to watch old movies on our big-screen tv … “Miracle on 34th Street” comes alive at Possum Trot! As the temperatures plunge and the forecast predicts sleet in days to come, Wintergreen is cranking up their snow-making to prepare for the holidays. Come snuggle up and hunker down in our Lodge or Farmhouse (or BOTH for a group of 18 or more!)… the fires are ready to set, just waiting for you! ! .org

Generations of Strattons have celebrated at Possum Trot, but this watershed 75th of Carole’s was especially over the top!!! More than 100 turned out to make merry on her special day and give thanks for the gift of simply being together. Friends, neighbors and family gathered for Carole’s annual Thanksgiving bash, but this year the festivities actually fell smack dab on her birthday!!! Here’s to MANY more!!!! .org

Possum Trot weddings … such a blessed gift to share the love with so many!!! Jasmine and PJ were wed in one of the sweetest, most Christian celebrations of commitment, faith and the power of friendships ever to grace our Possum Trot. We thank PJ for searching for us, Jasmine for saying “It’s perfect!” (besides “I do”, of course) and Marly along with their coterie of friends from UVA to bring it all home so beautifully and uniquely. We love these young people and can hardly wait to hear about their mission work and ministries as they move forward!!! THANK YOU, Jasmine and PJ for believing in us, too. We are so grateful!! ! .org

Ophelia roared through our little hamlet of Roseland yesterday but NOTHING was going to rain on Allie & Brennan’s wedding! The Moseley family pulled off a Shakespearian plot twist and delivered a perfect outdoor ceremony along with a seated Reception dinner for 70 guests on our Sun Porch … made complete by two beautiful tables and other handmade accoutrements by the Bride’s father, Barry. One of the sweetest, most profound wedding weekends ever at our Possum Trot Sanctuary. (Allie embroidered each guest’s names on the linen napkins as placecards!) A blessed summer solstice wedding, under an arch lovingly built by Jay, April’s Groom. Two families united at Possum Trot … continuing the sacred tradition. The Church IS one foundation … particularly in this sweet couple’s lives.
