Wedding Cake Cutting Symbolism: Do's and Don'ts

Cutting the Wedding Cake symbolizes the first accomplishment and mutual commitment to share and to provide for each other.

The cutting of the cake is an essential part of most wedding receptions. Even if you are opting for cupcakes or mini desserts, you likely still will want to have a small one or two tiered cake for cutting. It’s a sweet moment, a great photo opportunity.

DO cut it together. Traditionally, the groom’s right hand is gently placed atop the bride’s right hand. You’ll cut the cake like a triangle slice, be sure to cut all the way through to the bottom.
DON’T smash the cake, either with your hands or one each other’s faces.

We do weddings well, and our brides and grooms have more fun. They do, because we do a good job taking care of everything, while they savor and enjoy this precious day.
If you are reliable, want to work with a wonderful team, and help make someone's day amazing, we'd love to hear from you.
Most of our work goes on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays late into the night. Reliability is important. Each wedding is a commitment on our part. We rely on our staff to show up and be amazing. Our 3 locations in Farmington (Glenhaven), Eagan (Royal Cliff Event Center) and Lakeville (The Chart House) are looking for:
- Event staff: set up the room before the event, keep it nice and tidy during the event
- Catering staff: take care of the food
- Bartenders
- Late night
