I love the ocean! On a recent girls' getaway to Bodega, I couldn't get enough of it! We hiked through the dunes and the fog, enjoyed the afternoon sun with a glass of bubbly, explored the little town of Bodega and its history. Did you know that the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" was filmed here? Anyway, a weekend without weddings was well spent to recharge, talk about life and maybe we tried to learn a TikTok dance.. but that will be kept behind the scenes 😊

I had the best time planning Trina's and Eric's wedding! These sweethearts from the past, reunited and are so in love! They also have some amazing friends that offered to have their wedding at their beautiful winery in Fair Play which hadn't been done before! Turning this blank canvas into a wedding venue and creating a vision for this inaugural celebration was true bliss!

Photo booths .. are they in or are they out? Disposable cameras have come and gone and have come back again. Just like mocknecks, Converse, pink lipsticks and blue eye shadows. However, photo booths are here to stay. If you prefer a 360 booth or the backdrop with the camera and printer, there are some great vendors out there, that can help.
Most weddings get more traffic at the Photo Booth after dinner but cocktail receptions can also offer that little extra entertainment if you need it!

When I do a walkthrough at a wedding venue, I spend at least an hour in the space and think about the configuration, create an event flow and let the vibe guide me. It’s so important to look at the space from different angles, it opens up all kinds of new opportunities. Taking photos and videos and measuring it all, are just the basic needs. I create the wedding plan. Let the transformation begin.. 😊

A second photographer can take detail shots of the venue and decor elements, capture photos of guests enjoying appetizers and signature drinks and then spontaneous group shots! Do you prefer to take photos before the ceremony to enjoy the cocktail hour with guests?

I love outdoor weddings just as much as indoor weddings, however, there is just something special about feeling that summer breeze, sitting under the cozy market lights and filling the air with your kind of music! Weather could definitely ruin those thoughtful plans, so make sure you have a plan B, so you can celebrate no matter what. There is nobody to blame when the weather changes but the impact it will have if you are not prepared, is enormous..so you want to take that risk?

The calendar doesn’t change but somehow New Year’s Eve came quicker than expected. I feel unprepared for what is to come in 2024. I don’t have goals set, nor did I put much thought into any new adventures that may come my way for 2024. I actually tried to stay in the moment and just enjoy the December days with my family. That is something I definitely want to do more of, be in the moment, listen actively and just genuinely appreciate who I’m with and where I am at. Here is to 2024 and cherishing all of my connections and life! What will 2024 bring you?

I had a recent conversation with a bride to be and when I asked her why she wants to hire a wedding planner, she mentioned that she saw firsthand how her brother’s wedding had so many flaws because they didn’t plan for the unexpected because they didn’t know. On various bridal forums, I see brides mentioning how easy the wedding planning process is for them and they don’t understand why some choose to hire a planner.. Well, those some brides are the ones that also admit afterwards that they didn’t know what they didn’t know…
As a wedding planner I don’t doubt that you can’t plan your wedding on your own but I do question that you are planning for the unexpected. What is unexpected you ask?
It’s most often the simple things that are forgotten.. who knows how to bustle the dress? Didn’t think about guests with allergies? Pictures took longer and now you can’t join the cocktail hour? Who was going to move the ceremony chairs? Your father didn’t know he had to do a toast? And these are just a few hiccups..the behind the scenes need monitoring as well.
Moments like these take away from precious time with your partner, family and friends.
If you don’t have the budget to hire a wedding planner, do yourself a favor and reserve a power session with me to make sure you have all of your ducks in a row!

Is there anything that you would have done differently when planning your wedding? I’m asking brides that didn’t have a wedding planner because if you have a planner or take advantage of a professional consultation, you should have no regrets, right? 😊 Well, these are two things that stand out to me after reviewing a poll asking thousands of brides.. - not having enough time to eat - either not getting enough photos or too much time spent on photography. Both regrets can be easily fixed if you consult with me and I prepare a detailed timeline for you. I like to let my couples know that there is something very humble and special when you walk up to your to be husband and turn around and see all of the happy faces that came to share this moment with you. Take it all in, enjoy every moment. The I dos and the ring exchange are over in just a few minutes.. Advice and guidance like this can change your wedding experience tremendously. Include all of the flowers but also professional advice, you won’t regret it.. Talk to me, it just takes one afternoon over coffee or a hike in the mountains to get the scoop.
