Don’t be afraid!!

My couples often put on their wedding bands For their First Look couple portraits. I did a first look 17 years ago for my own wedding, but we didn’t have on our wedding bands, so none of our portraits have us wearing our rings.

I know some might not want to wear it before the actual ceremony and that’s 100% okay! But if you’re willing to do it, I suggest it every time so that you can get your images with your rings!

Private vows!!!

I love this sweet idea with my couples. They do their first look and then read private, personal, and heartfelt vows to each other.

I did a First Look at my own wedding almost 17 years ago, but I would have loved to have done this with my husband. Our vows at the wedding were the traditional “sickness and in health” and I know it would have been sweet to be able to do something like this.

I didn’t love it!!

I saw this tree when I drove up for my family session and knew I’d want to utilize it for some awesome fall colors!

I didn’t love the spot for it and even took a shot that I didn’t love. I shifted the location where they stood and got this epic shot!

When I took this shot, I didn’t have The Princess Bride in my head, but once I took it, I kept thinking in my head that it looked like a movie poster. It took me a minute to think on what it was.

Year after year!!

I’m beyond thankful for clients like Karley and Reid who come back year after year for their family pictures! They started as a wedding couple, then I took pictures of them with their dog, then maternity and newborn pictures, and finally years with their sweet boy!

I fell in love with this shot of Karley with her boy at their recent family session. ❤️
