VERY SAD

Just a community heads up.
My 18 year old daughter got a job at Damashkey Mediterranean restaurant in Lindenhurst. They agreed for a 3 day trial for both parties (which I agree, why waste each other's time if it's not a good fit) and after the 3 days, they'd mutually decide if either party wants to continue.
After the 3 days, my daughter didn't feel it was a good fit.
That's when the owner/manager/accounts payable (not sure,he wouldn't identify himself on the texts) told her that they "agreed" that this would be a trial and would only receive compensation if she wanted to continue working there. (BTW, I have texts from them stating that there was an agreement between them and this was the case).
He also told her AFTER she started, she wouldn't get payed for 5 weeks. WHAT!?
This is when I stepped in as a father. I understand she's 18 but like most 18 year olds, they're nieve and still green to life as were we.
This is where I told him that, an "agreement" such as what he wanted (free labor for 3 days) is illegal and there are labor laws protecting people from such situations.
He wrote her a $100 check for 15.5 hours worked, feel free to do the math, it's as much as I started my first job 30 years ago.
Explained to him that that wasn't going to fly and had to threaten litigation and reports through BBB and the labor board.
He claims he will pay her another 100 but at this point, she doesn't feel comfortable going back in the restaurant.
I was just giving a heads up because giving patronage to this place, may be allowing this place to take advantage of more nieve kids.
Just my take, feel free to make your own judgements though.

Wednesday, June 19 we have our mind metaphysical discussion group from 6:30 to 8:30. All are welcome just kick back and have a conversation about everything and anything.

Thursday night I will be at First or Afton Grayslake for a fundraiser and a 90s night party come out and dance join me in a good cause if you have time this is from 7 PM to 10 PM

Sunday, June 23 we have our first drum circle at Illinois State Beach and Zion take Wadsworth till a dead end into the state park and follow it to the very last parking lot. We will be right there on the beach 3 PM to 5 PM. All are welcome.
