We have some extra special items available for purchase for the person who has everything! We have super cozy Uptown Roxboro car blankets for $25 and Cruise-In glass ornaments for $5 - both available at City Hall (ask for April).

The Kirby glass ornaments are available for $10 at the Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce office (cash only) and there are only a few of these left so stop by while you're at Jingle and purchase those before they are gone!

We can't say THANK YOU enough to everyone who played a part in preparing for, executing, performing at, and attending Jingle on Main last night. We had so many wonderful donors, sponsors, and volunteers along with almost every businesses participating and even though it was super cold and windy we were so happy to host this wonderful holiday kickoff event! Stay warm and have a great holiday season! We will see you next year!

The Courier-Times is serving as an official drop off point for Santa Letters during Jingle on Main. Children of all ages can come by tonight, write a letter to Santa, put in the mailbox and we’ll make sure it gets to the North Pole in plenty of time.
We’ll also make a copy and publish it in this year’s Season’s Greetings special section.

Here's a peek at the contestants in the Uptown Roxboro Scarecrow Contest! The weather is great for a stroll through Uptown Roxboro to check out all the fall displays and decide which is your favorite, then head over to our website to cast your vote! www.uptownroxboro.com

As you may have seen today, Relay for Life was postponed to October 4th due to the weather conditions this week. If you are an Uptown business that we decorated with purple bows, we will come around on 9/30 to collect those (you don't need to do anything, we will grab them off the windows for you and keep them until next year). You now have until Friday, October 4th to get those scarecrow displays ready and send your pictures to [email protected] so we can get the online voting portal ready!

Don't forget about the TDA Rox N Roll Cruise-In this Friday night, September 20th in Uptown Roxboro! We will see you there from 5-8pm with DJ John Williford Carolina Productions & Entertainment and Turnin Pies food truck. We will have our 50/50 raffle and door prizes, plus giveaways - you won't want to miss a great evening in Uptown Roxboro!

Join us for the Independence Day Parade on Thursday, July 4th at 10am in Uptown Roxboro! The parade route runs south from the Person County Museum of History ending at Merritt Commons. We hope to see you there! #uptownroxboro #itsbetterinperson #ncmainstreet

Time to get those parade applications turned in so you can participate in the July 4th parade! Everyone who wants to drive, walk, ride a bike, etc... in the parade must complete and submit an application to Uptown Roxboro Group by June 28th at 5pm. Applications are available at City Hall, Furniture Mart, and Chamber of Commerce office or by email at [email protected]

Our Story

Uptown Roxboro Group (formerly Roxboro Development Group) is a non-profit responsible for helping the area develop and thrive. RDG has been a member of the North Carolina Main Street Program since 1995 and follows the Main Street approach to economic sustainability by working on developing community partners and resources, design asset development through economic reuse and programming. The N.C. Main Street program assists selected communities across the state in restoring economic vitality to their historic downtowns. Using a comprehensive downtown revitalization process developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Main Street encourages economic development within the context of historic preservation.

In the Spring of 2017, RDG began a branding initiative including research in the community and in comepeting communities. During the course of the branding reseearch, it became obvious there was confusion with the interchangeable names (Uptown Roxboro Development Group, Roxboro Development Group, Historic Roxboro). The new name effective 2018- Uptown Roxboro Group- is a more accurate reflection of the area and activiteis the group manages.

Uptown Roxboro is developing the art in living. The area has a cozy, urban feel but small town accessibility and safety. It is full of unexpected surprises for a town of it’s size. Farm-to-fork dining and other great family-friendly restaurants, a craft brewery, colorful murals, a thriving arts scene and theater and shopping opportunities from thrift to gift.
