2024 - It has been a year of growth, creativity, pushing limiting beliefs and enduring some growing pains. I have learned new skills from some of the best in the photography industry and created a business that I truly love and brings me so much joy! I have learned that taking a break and recharging with my family between sessions and weddings means I bounce back more creative than ever, which is something I will keep doing in 2025. I want to thank all my wedding couples and families for being some of the most amazing people I know, and I cannot wait to continue to capture your life milestones in 2025. I have one more session (a newborn session, yay!) this year, and I will kick off the new year with a maternity and a newborn sessions in the studio in early January. I want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday as I take a break from my social channels for the next week or so! 🤍🎄

Alexandra + James are the kind of people you meet for the first time and feel like you have known forever. About 2 years ago they drove all the way from New Jersey to meet me and do their engagement session in a (beautiful!) field out in nowhere here in southern New Hampshire. I instantly fell in love with them, their love, and their individual personalities and they have felt like lifelong friends ever since. A year later - on their wedding day - we met again and celebrated their big day with all their friends and family. Yesterday, almost 2 years since we first met, we met up again for Alexandra’s maternity session (again, out in nowhere in New Hampshire… they sure trust my creative vision! 😅). I had a vision of creating some more editorial pieces besides the regular “look at the camera and smile” - and wow, they nailed it!
I want my sessions to be an experience, something to look forward to, an opportunity to slow down and connect in an otherwise busy world.. we got to watch the sun set behind the mountains and listen to the crickets endless chirping while watching their baby move around on the inside and morph Alexandra’s belly into different shapes. I am forever grateful to call these two my friends and look forward to their newborn and 6 month session to follow inside their membership. 🫶

There are few places like the Crane Estate in this area. The European charm is everywhere and every nook and cranny is a new photo opportunity. The only downside is that sessions need to take place before they close for the day at 5pm, which can pose a lot of difficult lighting challenges. Lo and behold, on the day of Maria & Patrick’s session we had blue sunny skies all day, but just at 3 when the session was planned to begin we were blessed with this big but soft cloud that acted like the perfect diffuser for our session. Somehow we also had the entire place almost to ourselves! What a dream!

Maria & Patrick nailed their session and we had so much fun that we did not want to stop. We finished up their session on the beach, which will be a separate post shortly. ✨

I already knew I loved Rachel & CJ and their witty humor and unbreakable bond for one another, but after seeing first hand how they worked as a team yesterday and adapted to rapid weather changes that threw a major curve ball at their ceremony plans, I now know they can achieve anything in life. Despite the dark rain clouds rolling in just in time for their ceremony, they said “screw it, let’s stick to the plan and make the best of it!” And they got their garden ceremony (and some rain) and the rest of the night was all smiles, laughter and a party that everyone will talk about for a long time.

This session is from a few years ago, but because it is my fellow artist Casey’s birthday ( go check out her amazing work!!) I am taking this opportunity to celebrate her and re-share one of my favorite sessions ever. These two are two of the most genuine people I have ever met and coincidentally, we also gave our daughters the same name. 💫 In case I did not say it enough times, New Hampshire has the most stunning locations for photos and I am alllll for a good hike to capture ART like this! We kept on shooting long after the sun had set and had to hurry down the mountain to make it back to our cars before it would be pitch dark outside, but boy was it worth it!

To see my wedding couples become parents is one of the things I love the most about my job. To see them love on their scrunched up, snuggly newborn and capture that delicate newborn phase is so rewarding and one of the sessions I know will be increasingly cherished for each year that passes from now on. As a mom of two, I know how long - but also short - those first days and weeks can feel, and then you blink and the baby no longer fits into their teeny tiny newborn clothes and you will be thankful that you documented this short-lived phase of littleness. I aim to bottle up the uniqueness of each newborn baby by capturing the tiny details of the baby’s face, fingers and toes, but I also include mom and dad and photograph the family in a way that feels natural and organic to them. These photos are just as much a gift to the newborn baby, who years from now will cherish these photos of their mom and dad in the home they lived in when they were little. We bottle up an essential chapter of their life they will never remember for themselves. Photos and videos are the only way to preserve time, and you think of it this way, the investment (of time and money) of having professional photos taken may be easier to justify. 🤍

I loved this mommy & daughter matching set so much that I now have it in my ever-growing curated client wardrobe. 💕 My availability for outdoor and studio sessions for this fall is limited and my calendar is starting to look full. The IG posts have been few and far in between this summer, but it is all part of my goal this year. You see, at the end of last year I was tired. I was burnt out. As a creative person I get an explosion of energy from meeting all of you and creating art at each and every session and wedding, but with very little downtime to recharge between each session and wedding, and with family to take care of in between, I felt like my creativity and energy levels were running at an all-time low. Something needed to change for me to continue my creative journey to be able to continue doing what I love to much. I had to re-define my goal for my business and what truly brings me happiness in life. With the help of some great coaches and self-reflection I realized that I wanted to connect and create art on a deeper level than I was currently performing at, but this was hard when I was constantly running in circles. This year I have slowed down. In all aspects of life. I work less, but spend more meaningful time with each client I take on to ensure we get exactly what they want. We discuss outfits, locations, color-schemes and how we can best display your family heirlooms in your home after the session. I spend more time with my children, and their individual and ever changing needs will always be my highest priority. We have slowed down as a family too and enjoy slow days at home, coloring, swimming at the lake, going on hikes, and lately eating tomatoes and cucumbers straight from our vegetable garden and they taste soooo good. I try to get more sleep (this one is still a work in progress) and whenever I feel stress building up inside of me I take a moment to figure out where it is coming from and eliminate it. IG has always been a source of stress for me because it is so easy as a creative to compare my work to others and get hit with imposter syndrome. Why am I sharing all of this? Well, my “slower” year has paid off and I feel more creative and happy in my business than ever. I get to work with clients who truly value their portraits & wedding photos and I am going into the busy wedding & portrait season feeling more creative, excited and recharged than ever before! 🤍

This beautiful family was one of the first to reach out to me after I launched my collective membership earlier this year. I already had the honor of photographing their engagement session, wedding day and maternity session so they are well versed with my workflow and how my sessions run, but time their adorable daughter was the star of the show 👑 We already have their next session planned out and I am so excited to get to document so many milestones of this special 1st year as parents. I am truly so blessed to capture these memories for you all!

Imagine the joy of being able to give your children the same summertime childhood memories as you once had - what a magical gift. I love to incorporate sentimental locations and/or items to my sessions and this family’s beach house was the perfect touch 🤍 Most of the communication with me is prior to your session as we discuss your vision, your outfits, how you envision your final artwork on your walls or in an heirloom album and by the time of the session we are all on the same page and I create your bespoke artwork while you can focus on having fun with your family. 🤍

The “sitter” babies are my favorite to photograph. It is easy to make them smile, and they cannot run away from the camera yet! 😂 I know these are going to be cherished for a lifetime by this sweet mom and I would photograph babies all day long if I could. For 17 years I have chased the sunsets and those perfect, dreamy locations in my photos. I still love that and cannot wait for spring to finally arrive so I can start photographing outside again. However; in my studio, when all of the environmental distractions are removed and I all have is a (gorgeous!) 6 foot backdrop, I have found that I have slowed my pace and photograph more intentionally. I do not have to constantly double check that there is nothing distracting in the background, but really focus on the person in front of me and their story. I focus on creating photos that you will want to have displayed in your home long after the baby is born, because they bring you back to this very day, the chapter of your life when you were growing a life inside of you. I have grown so much as a photographer in these short few months in my teeny tiny studio. Did you do a maternity session? What was your favorite part about it?

What if your family photo session is not (only) for you, but also for your children? I have a mission to get moms in front of the camera with their children, because most of the time in their own day-to-day life; they are the ones capturing the moments. They are the ones creating the magic, making the moments happen and setting up photos, but rarely make it to be in the photos with their children. That’s why I have made the process easy and have a full wardrobe of dresses to borrow and a hair & makeup team on standby so that all you need to do is to show up and have a great time with your family - I will take care of the rest and make it happen!

If you want true, organic connection in your photos, you need to slow down, follow the children’s lead and just be present in the moment 🤍 When you book a session with me, we carefully plan your session to line up with your vision, and you have a client wardrobe to choose from for a seamless, stress-free experience. I am wrapping up my outdoor sessions in the next couple of weeks, but I am available in a warm and cozy studio for maternity, newborn, family and milestone sessions until the weather is back on track for outdoor sessions in April or May of next year! 🤍

For awhile now, I have been dreaming about having a small studio space, and mid-year last year I started manifesting that dream and saying it out loud to my closest circle. It is scary to try something new and I did not expect it to happen anytime soon. Lo and behold, this teeny tiny space in Hollis was introduced to me at the end of last year. It is not big or fancy, but as with most things in life, you have to start small and work your way up to bigger, better things! I cannot wait to create beautiful art in this space and will open my calendar for babies, expectant mothers and mommy & me sessions as soon as it is ready 🥰
