RIMREC State of Emergency Update - Assistance Needed
Thank you for your patience as the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District develops an appropriate timeline to return to regular scheduling.

Now that some Park District staff were able to successfully clear snow from their personal property, the following sites have been deemed first priority for snow removal:

Twin Peaks Community Center; 675 Grandview Road, Twin Peaks, CA 92391
Robert Hootman Community Center; 2929 Running Springs School Road, Running Springs, CA 92382
Sunrise Children's Club Preschool; 26577 State Hwy 18, Rimforest, CA 92378
We understand these facilities are needed as soon as possible; however, we need assistance in removing the large amounts of snow as it’s just beyond the Park District’s equipment and capabilities. We would appreciate any help. Also, please allow time for the Park District staff and potential volunteers to clear the snow and inspect facilities for any safety concerns before opening. If you have any questions or would like to offer assistance, please email General Manager Jenny Hueter, [email protected].

As of now, and to give our Youth Basketball participants a heads-up, the RIMREC Youth Basketball Program has been postponed for the time being. Facility use for the mountain's State of Emergency, especially shared facilities, has first priority.

All other facilities and recreation programs will remain closed and will resume when safe to do so. We will post additional updates as they come on our website, www.rim-rec.org and our page.

We truly miss not being able to see our Park District families and friends attend their recreation programs, gather in our facilities, and use our parks. Spring will be here and baseball season is just around the corner we can feel it. Please stay safe and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

COVID-19 Closure: All programs, facilities, parks, and public spaces, including the District Office are still currently closed until further notice.

COVID-19 Youth Track and Field Refund Announcement: For the safety of everyone, (customers, staff, etc.) all those that registered in person at the District Office for the 2020 Youth Track and Field program will be able to pick-up their CASH REFUND by Monday, May 4, 2020 or until further notice. All those that paid online via the RIMREC online catalog system will see their card credited in the next few weeks. We apologize once again for extending this deadline. We have great recreation programs taught by great people here on our mountain. For example Lisa Thiele who teaches our Hands-on Homeschool and Hands-on Tutoring programs. She really takes time with her participants to help them achieve success. We are so thankful that our contract instructors bring these program through the Park District to service our community.
