Happy Sunday Friends!
On a serious note, I've been doing some serious reflecting as of late. The world is so messy and so loud that more often than not, our minds become muddied and our actions deviate from what's really important. So, here I am, pausing, evaluating, casting my own wants and opinions aside in hopes that maybe, I can focus more on what's important.
My time in self-reflection was not without struggle and certainly wasn't without the guidance of God. Through Him all things are possible, right? And with that, I spent a lot of time in conversation with God about what it is I was looking for. It's funny because the answer I got, wasn't what I was seeking. In true human fashion, I was concerned more with myself and was hoping for an outcome that brought myself and my family happiness, prosperity, security, safety, and comfort. Selfishly, my desire to reflect wasn't for anyone else's benefit but my own and that's kind of embarrassing to admit, but true nonetheless. God, however, had bigger ideas and certainly better ones too.
With all that being said, God needs an army, one that I haven't enlisted in for some time, but was told was necessary. And as I'm not sure if this message will reach all the people it needs to, my hope is that it finds at least ONE. One person that we can help through this season and into a brighter one. I don't have all the riches of the world, but what I do have can be used to help those less fortunate.
I would really love to offer meal kits to those in need. As of now, I would like to start with 10 meals a week to anyone that would like to message me privately through our page. For the time being, until I can find a balanced schedule for all of this, I will post the day for pickup each week. Each meal kit will include all the food items needed for a complete meal to feed 4-6 people including meat and a gallon of tea. The meals will vary from week to week and will be posted on Sunday with the menu. Again, to claim a meal, please send me a message letting me know you'd like to get one at our designated day/time. That's it!
Maybe with time and interest, we can grow this prospect into something larger to bring more families a balanced, warm meal.
PLEASE, spread the word!
For the coming week...
PICKUP - THURSDAY 11/13 between 2:00-3:00
Spaghetti & Garlic Bread w/ Salad
- Spaghetti Noodles
- Hamburger (1lb)
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Garlic Bread
- Side Salad
- Sweet Tea (1 Gal)
These meal kits include the items only and are not prepared. The items will be boxed and must be picked up in the allotted timeframe. Limit of one kit per family, per week.
I know it's not a lot, but it's a start in the right direction.
On another note, we're closed tomorrow for no other reason than I need a break...a moment...a day to do me things. The menu will be posted tomorrow, but for those of you that have asked, YES, we will be having beer brats this week! FINALLY!
It's going to be a good week!
