Our lead tour guide offers a quick “behind the scenes” from our busy weekend: post setup, pre decoration. And the weather is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Not long ago, we posted a video of a tree stump following us home from our work in the woods. We knew it wanted to be something, but we weren’t exactly sure what…
Then we found an AMAZING sink and faucet. We knew right away that they would get along with the stump and decided to introduce them.
So if your guess wasn’t “outdoor sink with hot and cold running water”, please try again next time. If it WAS you guess, please message us immediately: You’re our people.
We had a stray tree stump follow home from our work in the woods yesterday: Any guesses on our plans for it?
And if you don’t feel like guessing, you can just see it this Saturday (5/4/24) during our free Prom Photo Pass from 3-6pm. Just message us to signup!
Pedal Power!
Are you going to Prom? Would you like a cool place to take your pictures? Would you like it to be free?
Good news! We are officially open for prom pics tomorrow (4/27/24) and next Saturday (5/4/24) for students of Lancaster, Fairfield Union, New Lexington, and Sheridan (and anyone else with a prom either of these days). If you want to take part, send us a message and we will get you locked in. We will accept groups every 20 minutes from 3pm until 6pm each day, but you MUST register with us first.
So don’t wait - register now! And if you’re going to prom, don’t take the bike in our video. The tire is still flat…

It might not be the right temperature, but it still feels like Christmas...
36 Year Side by Side Video
It's cold today and snow is probably on the way. Ever wonder what the Havenstone looked like about 36 years ago in the snow? Now you'll know! It's a few minutes long, but well worth the watch. The differences are CRAZY!!!
Ever wonder what it's like to use a Photo Pass at the Havenstone without a photographer? Us too! So we tried it out last night - in our costumes!
Turns out, not only were able to do this all in less than an hour, but we loved it! In fact, we're hooked. So we need some input from anyone with an idea - what kind of shoot should we try next? Nothing boring or standard... We want theme ideas that will put us and the property to the test! What better way to understand the possibilities than by turning loose a couple of amateurs with a cell phone and a selfie stand.
And a MAJOR thank you to Matthew Hilliard aka @matthew_hi11iard for the orignal audio...
Family Friendly Fall Fun @ the Havenstone
Our next round of Family Friendly Fall Fun @ the Havenstone (featuring freshly fallen foliage) is this Saturday! And the leaves are approaching “perfection”…
What is this event, you ask? A Fall/Halloween themed activity that is geared toward families and younger children: no jump scares, no gore, no horror. Just some mild Halloween fun - think eerie, not terrifying. You'll see pumpkins, some skulls, some dolls, and more - but no one will be chasing your kids with a chainsaw while they cry and you try to figure out how you'll ever get them to fall asleep again.
The best part about growing up at the Havenstone is getting first crack at the leaf pile… Come take your chance at the Family Friendly Fall Fun @ the Havenstone (featuring freshly fallen foliage) event starting tomorrow and happening every Saturday from 12-4pm for the entire month of October! (By appointment or invitation only all other times)
As our list of @followers continues to grow, a lot of you have asked about the Family Friendly Fall Fun @ the Havenstone (featuring freshly fallen foliage) event we’re hosting… Here’s the nutshell:
- It’s every Saturday in October from 12-4pm
- $10 per person and it’s our only public event (everything else is by invitation or appointment only)
- The Harvest Hunt Trail is included with admission - as well as full access to all of our photography settings
- The “Paint a Pumpkin” activity allows you to grab a wooden cutout of your choice from the trail and take it to the Quarry to paint it - most of the wooden crafts are $5 each, but we have bigger ones that are also $7 and $10
- We will be featuring a handful of vendors each Saturday (5-6 each day). For this week, we’ve confirmed with Tom Kunkler and his chainsaw art, Carries Custom Creations (with some Scentsy offerings as well), My Italian Tradition, and Twisted Steel Fabrication. If you’re a vendor that’s interested, let us know asap - we still have a couple of spots open.
Most importantly, our lead tour guide turned 9 recently, and we contracted his services to make sure the Harvest Hunt Trail was up to his standards. We’re happy to report that he and his friends were sufficiently pleased with their trial run at his birthday party! We were also able to catch some of the action in this video…
Happy Hunting!
A new seasonal photography setting at the Havenstone: “Skeleton Ridge”
The final round of preparation for the Family Friendly Fall Fun @ the Havenstone (featuring freshly fallen foliage) is underway! We still have some open spots for vendors (message if interested), but most importantly: check out our newest photography setting, “Skeleton Ridge”. This is one of the many that will be available during the public event from 12-4pm every Saturday in October and for all private bookings as well. The leaves are changing, the skeletons are waiting, and we have a few more surprises up our sleeve - so don’t miss out!
With all of the photography activity we’ve been seeing, we thought we’d show you our “ready room” - for changing outfits, taking a quick break, or if you’re a reluctant parent tagging along for senior photos, it’s an excellent place to hide.
On that note, we’ll have it in pure “lounge” form for our Sheridan Homecoming event on 9/9 - a free opportunity for students to come out for a session before the dance. Don’t forget to register at www.theHavenstone.com/shs to claim your spot!

We invite you to learn more about the Havenstone, the impact Leslie Brenstuhl (the late matriarch of the Havenstone family) had upon our founding and our daily operations, and our intent to share our amazing property with the world around us. Our final video of the week and the one that says it all...
It's hard to understand the feelings that come from being in the Quarry at the Havenstone, but this will at least give you a glimpse.
Our next video is ready for you! Ever wonder how we stumbled into the Tree of Life? You know, the one in our logo... Watch this to learn more!
Expect some BIG stuff the next few days... We've been working on a super-secret video project for a while and it's time to let you see it! This is a series that not only discusses the Havenstone and what we are all about, but it also touches on the impact Leslie Brenstuhl (the matriarch of the Havenstone family) has on everything we do - even two years after her passing. Today, we start small and give you a glance at the craziness of some of our ideas and our passion for turning trash into treasure. Enjoy - and come back tomorrow for even more!
