Beautifully articulated ❤️.
The truth about the aftermath of the tornado;
“Rebuilding” isn’t the only thing required after devastation rips apart your entire home life and livelihood. Finding center is something not many are talking about. I have talked to so many victims of the storm that have a similar story in their inability to find focus and move forward. I will tell you mine.
Luxe was a fully functioning and thriving salon, tannery, and boutique. It took every ounce of strength, perseverance, vision, and overcoming obstacles to get to where it was before the storm. I was on year 4 and constantly searching for that next great thing to provide service to our community. I poured my heart and soul into community events and especially Luxe enchanted princess days. My clients were overflowing and I was working 10 hour days to keep up with the demand. I had an amazing team of strong and beautiful women to work beside every day, and Luxe was full of life!
Then…..the F3 hit my beautiful Luxe, being in the direct path of the storm. My home was also destroyed as well as both of my vehicles. I found myself literally in a “spin”. How do you find center when you are homeless and have lost your entire income in a matter of seconds? The answer is, YOU DON’T. At least not for a while! I spent many days and nights crying and overwhelmed with so many things. It took months to organize my life and business and I am still working on it today. The community came together like I have never seen and I am forever grateful for all who donated and lifted me up and carried me through some of the most difficult days of my life.
I was fortunate to stumble upon a new business home. One that is humble and on a much smaller scale. One that provides a sense of calm and simplification that I believe was destined for my new life and journey. I have been slowly working on making my new space an enticing place for my clients and for new clients to come. I am so ready to share my new place!
My nail business has also taken a direct hit as I am currently at about 50% of my previous clientele. People ask how they can help? In business the best form of building is and will always be word of mouth. I am so excited to be back in a space and providing service to my loyal clients and I am looking forward to meeting new people and showing them the “Luxe” difference.
People tell me every day how strong I am to push through the devastation but in reality we can’t always be strong. The real part of this story is how it affects a person and what they have to do to claw themselves out of a very dismal and heartbreaking situation. Sometimes it takes being raw and genuine. The rawness and the realness is, depression. Not a single person wants to admit weakness, or sadness, or that they question if they really can make it through their storm. The truth is everyone CAN. Just sometimes you have to admit you need a little help. So here it is, the truth and realness is I need help to “rebuild”.
