How can tea labeled pure green tea contain other flavors and scents? For example, if you spread The Ruston Steepery's Organic Jasmine Green Tea in your palm, you would only see curled tea leaves, yet you would smell a field of jasmine flowers. This can be achieved in a few ways - some easier than others. Keep reading to learn about how the highest quality jasmine green teas - like ours - are processed!

Since jasmine green tea was discovered during China’s Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD), tea experts have narrowed its processing down to a science: Basically, jasmine flowers are picked during a certain time of spring, at a certain time of day, then stored with processed green tea leaves to scent them (possibly replacing fresh flowers multiple times for maximum scent absorption which takes several weeks), then dried through firing. Finally, the blossoms may be removed from the leaves, and it is ready to steep, and fortify immune systems!

Let's talk tea!

One of TRS' NEW FLAVORS is
Organic Caribbean Cooler, and it tastes like it sounds. It has an Indian black tea base blended with orange and lemon peel along with natural mango and passion fruit flavors. This is an ideal iced tea for porch sipping on a summer day. During preparation, we like to sweeten the concentrate with honey, then top off each finished iced tea with slices of orange and lemon.

DID YOU KNOW that chamomile tea was first recorded in 1550 BC in Egypt? Since then, it has been used as a supplement for reducing inflammation (thanks to its azulene oil) and promoting relaxation. (Freed et al., N/A). You may also want to drink this herbal infusion because it's delicious! You can have it plain or add in a flavor, like lemon.
