The apples are piled beside the stove, their crisp sweetness begging to be baked into something warm—maybe an apple tart with a hint of savory, or those cinnamon scones we love to share on slow mornings.
The table is scattered with gourds, each one unique, gathered from nearby farms. And just beyond the kitchen window, the garden is coming alive with spider lilies, their red blooms bursting forth, signaling the gentle turn of the season.

The Ida Grey is more than just a beautiful property; it’s a piece of Louisiana history. Designed by the renowned William King Stubbs, this special place carries the mark of a true architectural master. Stubbs, a Monroe native and Tulane School of Architecture graduate, left a lasting legacy across northern Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi with over 600 projects, including stately Georgian and Greek Revival homes. If you ever find yourself in the formal living room, take a moment to browse the book on our coffee table—its pages are filled with the incredible work of Stubbs, including our very favorite, The Ida Grey. It’s well worth a look!
