3 things you should know BEFORE booking your wedding photographer... (that third slide though 👀)

If you (or someone you know) are recently engaged and have no idea where to start looking for a photographer, then keep these three things in mind to help you narrow down your choices and choose the wedding photographer that is the BEST FIT!

1. Define your style — do you like light and airy, documentary, editorial? Would you prefer candid images or more traditional portraits? Define your style so that will help you find a photographer that matches your vision.

2. Do your research — ask the photographer for their portfolio, stalk their Instagram, Pinterest, and website. Pay attention to how they capture the moments that you are envisioning for your own wedding, lighting, locations.

3. MEET MEET MEET. Whether it’s virtually or in person, meet with your photographer! This is important to make sure that you are comfortable with one another since your photographer will be capturing some intimate moments.

BRB while I just think about how extremely thankful and grateful I am to my people! 😭

I got to capture this sweet couple’s engagement session last week and it was extra special because this bride-to-be is the sister to a previous bride of mine! 😍

Kate not only booked me without question, I was also one of the first vendors she booked for her wedding because of interacting with me at her sister’s wedding. I can’t tell you just how much that means to me! 🥰

Seriously, not only do I LOVE showing up and being there for my people, but when their people also become my people along the way— it makes my heart SO FULL!

Let’s chat about the mix-and-matched bridesmaids dress trend. Do we love it or hate it?

It can be a great way to give your bridesmaids a way to let their personality shine through, but how do you, as the bride, make sure it’s still what you’re looking for?

Here are FOUR things for you to think about if you’ve been leaning towards the mix-matched bridesmaids trend ⤵️

1. Choose a color palette. Either a range of colors that complement each other or a specific color for the girls to stick with.

2. Set guidelines. Long, short, high-low, fabric— give some direction to ensure a cohesive look.

3. Coordinate accessories. It’s amazing what matching shoes and jewelry can do to bring the whole look together!

4. Mix textures and patterns. When done right— lace, chiffon, even sequins can look beautiful together when done right!

👉🏻 have an unplugged ceremony so that no arms and phones can be seen in the photos your photographer is capturing!

👉🏻 have your officiant step aside so when your first kiss is captured, there is no one behind you!

👉🏻 stop midway down the aisle for another kiss or a dip with your family and friends celebrating in the background.
