FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The results of the 178th annual meeting of the Rutland County Agricultural Society held on Dec 11, 2024.
Elections:
President: Robert Congdon Jr.
1st Vice President: Randy Bettis
Secretary: Christy Davis
Trustees: Rick McKirryher
Cash Ruane
Auditors: Richard Giddings
Luey Clough
Steve Berger

The society reported strong financial grounding, with further grounds improvements planned in the coming year. Most notably plans to rebuild a machinery shed that had been torn down and the rebuild had been delayed a year, a handicap restroom expansion to the agricultural area bathrooms and continued expansion of grounds offerings during the fair. One notable new offering being the booking of Agri-Golf for the 2025 fair. Many volunteers and officers of the society were thanked for their work and the steps made in improving all aspects of the organization. The biggest challenge facing the society is the 3 acre water rule which still threatens the future of the organization’s ability to put on a fair. Governor Scott is being engaged by local officials including the fair to see if any relief is possible this legislative session. The coming fair on August 12-16th 2025, will be the 179th the society has put on. A special presentation was made to retiring trustee Melanie Aguiar.
