The first 3 years of Valley Flora (2020-2023) I was running this business alone and overcoming near lethal domestic abuse. I used the pain of my broken heart to fuel my business ambitions, and I am blessed to see that my girls and I enjoyed such success despite tremendous loss in our personal life. I went as hard as I could, trying to provide a great for life us in this crippling economy. I went as hard as I could until I burned out and had to face reality- a very very painful reality. I’ve been slowing down the last year to recover and heal. The sabbatical has bee. the best decision I could have made for me and my girls. Here’s to the single mothers and their babies, and the ones who have known survival mode like few ever will, heart🙏🏻🏃‍♀️🚣🏻‍♀️🛟

August in my anniversary month, and I’m prone to reminiscing. This August marks 4 years with Valley Flora. Starting a bouquet club in August 2020 in the thick of the pandemic. I also launched these postcards so we could find ways to connect with our loved ones when we were told to shelter in place. Such a wild time and kind of weirded out that I found the will to begin a business at that time in history.

Last year I went shopping 🛒 at Safeway at Crocker Ranch for the pineapples needed for this event (a tropical themed bridal shower) and ended up running into an old acquaintance in aisle 7. It was a man who I worked with ten years ago at Chicory Coffee. We had actually bumped into other over the years in various places — but this time- with my grocery cart full of nothing but pineapples we exchanged info and spent the next 6 months getting reacquainted. This flower business has blessed my life in so many ways, and bumping into while shopping for centerpiece materials might be one of the biggest Blessings so far. 🥹☺️🥰

We are living in a virtual retail world which is so convenient but call me old fashioned I still really like an in-person shopping experience, and no one does it like & — being able to see and handle the pretty new merchandise, smelling the fragrances and the Coffee brewing in the cafe, things on in real time, and getting helped by real & knowledgeable sales associates.
