Two things about today. It was awesome. First, I'm scared to do bachataday more often because I'm scared of weakening Viva. I'm glad you enjoy it, but I can't. I'm gonna leave you constantly wanting more.

Thank you for adding your energy to our event and sharing good vibes. Today I shared that disrespecting women is never welcome at events I'm a part of. Our scene has been through a lot to be as healthy and welcoming as it is. I've stood as one of the few allies with women who were at the time dealing with a (since) convicted ra**st while other members of the community undermined us and called me a power abuser in protest. I've met with gals to help write restraining orders, and all of the men who tell you they've been banned from my events have done bad things to women. I reserve the right to refuse service to any scumbag. WE don't allow wrong behavior. Ive also assisted in a wrongfully accused male's trial where he was proven innocent by video.

The last Bachataday of 2024 is at Cornerstone this Sunday! This is a monthly event featuring tracks pooled from the community which fit the monthly musical theme. This month is "Ladies Night", so please send in your favorite tracks featuring a female vocalist!

Every Bachataday features a beginner bachata lesson with Larry at 3pm and dancing goes until 8. Special thanks to our bartender Serena and Cornerstone for allowing us to dance.

Big event coming next week! The grand opening for AMPED Studios' new location as well as Viva Salchata's 4th anniversary is coming for two days Nov 23 & 24. We've invited international superstars Nick & Ivonne from NYC to teach sensual bachata, Erika Rivera from LA to teach spins & technique, and Dogukan Avdac to teach Salsa on2.

Event will have training from 2-5pm Saturday and Sunday, and a social on Saturday from 8:30-1am. There will be a Jack & Jill Saturday night for free passes to the California Dance Festival so be there!

Tickets are $99 for the workshops Saturday & Sunday plus the social, or $20 for just the social. You can find tickets & info in our description as well as in our pinned comment. See you there!

Viva Salchata has been a cornerstone of the Sacramento dance community for the last four years and we are celebrating our fourth anniversary with a bang! We have invited some of the world's greatest artists to teach for 6 hours of dance training on November 23 & 24 for the grand opening of Amped Dance Studio's new location at 5154 Auburn Blvd in Sacramento. Following instruction we have a dance social starting at 8:30pm on Saturday where we will be giving away free passes to the 2025 California Dance Festival to the winners of our Jack & Jill competition!

We want to keep class sizes small, so are only selling passes for 25 leads & follows. This makes for the best learning environment where you can really get high quality instruction.

Featured Artists:

Nick & Ivonne - Dancers and instructors for La Fuerza Dance Company out of New York, Nick is an international superstar as a dancer on La Fuerza Kingsmen. He is joined by his partner Ivonne, director of the Bestia NYC Ladies bachata team. They will be teaching an hour of sensual bachata at 4pm on Saturday & Sunday

Dogukan Avdac - A dancer and choreographer from Ankara, Turkey, Dogukan has recently moved to Sacramento and is our featured local instructor. He specializes in high level salsa on2 training and will be teaching the 3pm class.

Erika Saucillo Rivera - A paragon of feminine strength & empowerment from Los Angeles, Erika was director to the West Coast's greatest dance company, Quest Salchata Crew and has grown to international levels of fame most recently being featured in Tokyo, Hawaii, and Calgary. She will be teaching spins and technique starting at 2pm.
