Do you know what’s sad? When you find out that a Christian wedding coordinator and their husband is talking about this non profit organization because I told them that I was going to offer my services for free to Brides that have Disabilities.

While they have tons of clients, they are jealous I cater to the people who have more important things to worry about than to spend money, when they should be concentrating on their health.

I offer free officiate for your wedding & an engagement photographer completely complimentary. That’s right no charge to you at all.

I am so excited that I get to participate in a Jewish Wedding. Did you know they use a Chuppah? It is a canopy under which Jewish couples stand when they are married is called a chuppah.

The chuppah represents the new home a couple establishes through their marriage. It also represents the sheltering presence of God and the wish for God's blessing over the couple.

Under the Chuppah, the Rabbi, Cantor or sometimes a valued family member does a blessing over wine followed by giving thanks. The bride and groom then proceed to drink the wine. It is Jewish law that the groom must give the bride an object of value as a gift. In modern times, a ring is used.

It is so much fun learning other cultures and traditions. Tell me something about your culture or traditions and do you practice it now or did you choose to do something else?

I am in the process of updating my website and introducing my photography. I have been a professional photographer since 2003. I didn’t realize how much I missed taking photos until I got my new Canon 7D Markii. Already looking at the Canon R6. So looking forward to creating memories with everyone.

There are tons of options to make your wedding be inexpensive and easily affordable. Here is a list of options you can consider.

Hotel Suite

A large hotel suite will accommodate 25 people or so, and there are really no rules as to how you set it up.

Hotel Event Rooms

These are gaining popularity which offer event spaces for:

Corporate events
Fundraisers
Weddings
Cocktail receptions
Galas
Holiday parties
Regional conferences
Anniversary parties
Alumni events
Baby showers
Photo shoots
Corporate buyouts

Restaurants

Restaurants don’t often host weddings, especially restaurants without party rooms. If you are interested in a restaurant buyout, restaurants are usually pretty flexible with decorations. An added bonus is that some restaurants often have outdoor spaces (plus, if it's your favorite restaurant, then you're basically getting your favorite food served at the wedding).

Coffee Shops / Bistros

Much of what applies to restaurants applies for coffee shops too. However, you will likely have fewer in-house dining options. But that might be a welcome trade off if you’re doing a cute breakfast wedding.

Small Art Galleries

Large museums often host weddings, but small galleries? Not as much. For the owner of a gallery, hosting a wedding is a great way to get some new faces in the door.

Small Private Retailers

Think book stores or boutiques. If you are both able to be creative with the space, this is a great way for small business owners to get new customers in the door.

Photo Studios

Studios can be fairly wide open spaces and are often available for rent. You’ll probably have to bring in furniture, but on the plus side this might be a great way for you to find a photographer, too!

Public Parks and Beaches

If you are looking to do a quick ceremony with an intimate group of guests, converging in a public place can work. This is known as a guerilla wedding, and as long as you keep the guest list very small and accept the risk of having your wedding interrupted, it can be a viable option.

Pool Hall

If you can find a nice pool hall, you’ll have a unique venue with reception entertainment built in.

Amusement Parks

Also offer venue options for parties & weddings.

Put Put Golf / Waterparks

Are fun and easily affordable for smaller wedding sizes.

Zoo’s or Aquariums

Are a great way for that wow factor. Definitely worth the entertainment value and uniqueness to your wedding.

Flex Spaces

Flex spaces are designed to be versatile. Many feel a little office-y, so you may have to get creative with decoration.

Co-Working Spaces

You might think coworking spaces would also feel corporate, but surprisingly, many don’t. They often have really modern cozy looks and/or try to appeal to a “hip” demographic.

Empty Storefronts

We’ve all seen those strip malls where some storefronts sit empty for months or even years. Many building owners will not turn down your offer to rent the space for a day or two.

Veteran Facilities

Most Veteran ran associations such as the Eagles, Moose Lodges, American Legions, Amvets etc. All of these are happy to rent out places for your wedding.

Fairgrounds

Will often rent bone one of the buildings for an entire weekend. Reach out and ask for availability and pricing.

Churches

Usually offer Event spacing if they have availability.

This list isn’t every ones cup of tea. They are options that will save you money for those brides/grooms on a budget.

For the rest of 2024, I am offering Elopements, Micro-Weddings, and Vow Renewals for $500.00. Engagement photos are $200. This gives you a minimum of 200-300 photos all edited digitally with a signed model release form. That you give me permission to use the photos online or on my website to show case my photography. A great way to repurpose a door. Turn it into a wedding photos or family photos for everyone to see. Add door hangers to hang book bags, coats and scarves on.

I was asked why do officiants cost so much today.

Here is a breakdown of my process.

The ceremony may be 30 minutes to an hour. However, we still have to do several counseling sessions with the bride/groom, send a questionnaire (mine is 50 questions each) and wait to get both questionnaires back before I can even work on their wedding vows and customized wedding ceremonies.

Then I have to wait for the couple to approve the vows and send them a generalized overlay of the ceremony.

I work with the bride/groom exclusively and their family members, plus the wedding party. Sometimes it is really easy. Sometimes it takes a few for the wedding party to understand what they need to do to make the wedding flow.

I also work with the other vendors present. The DJ, caterers, planners, photographers, coordinators all must work together so everything is perfect for the day.

In most instances I talk to the vendors before we meet. Our timelines must coincide with each others and communication is absolutely the key. Plus building relationships is always a great way to do business.

While I donate all of my services to Brides with Disabilities Foundation, with our brides and grooms that are disabled.

Donations are always accepted to go towards wedding decorations, flowers for the wedding arches or the weddings themselves.

Now you know why your officiate cost so much.

You can use material and drape over the arbor, add a few flowers and this makes for a really easy ceremonial spot for a wedding. It dresses up any area regardless if it is in a church, garden, national park or city park. I love doing this for my brides.
