Folk punk incorporates the spirit and energy of punk rock with the populism and intimacy of folk. It is rowdy, raw, political and personal – breaking down the barriers between audience and performer. just our instruments, our voices, and the truth, we have repurposed the traditions of folk music for the post-punk generation. Broken Strings is bringing incredible performers from across the independent music world to Camp Pollack, an idyllic former Boy Scout campground on the bank of the American River. Attendees can enjoy the park and the river and experience some of the greatest folk punk performers in the U.S.

Hey all! Bay Area underground stalwarts Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children MacNuggits are putting out their first album since 2012, and it's a doozy. "Solar Cantata" is a 20-song concept album about societal collapse as we transition from the Fu***ng Around part of history to the Finding Out part. If you don't know what a Bobby Joe Ebola is, now's your chance to do some googling!

Anyway, album preorders are now available via a Kickstarter campaign, both for the double LP with lavish art from the likes of punk collage artist Winston Smith, D&D fantasy art icon Erol Otus & more, or a digital download.
