Our Beginner Band students will take on the Saginaw Band Invitational tomorrow! If you’d like to come cheer them on and didn’t get a chance to fill out the pre-registration link, don’t forget to check in at the CTHS front office, first!

All students need to wear their band shirt, jeans, and closed-toe shoes for the performance.

We’re looking forward to meeting our next class of beginner band members! All fifth graders zoned for Wayside and current WMS students interested in joining band are invited.

This is a come-and-go event— come when you can and leave when you’re done!

The Boswell Pioneer Drumline is headed to WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio!!!

Catch their final performance in Texas this Sunday at 7PM in the Max G. Newcom Gym at Boswell HS, with BBQ concessions available at 6PM until sold out.

Admission is free, donations are welcome!

Congratulations to our fabulous Symphonic Band for a SUPERIOR showing at UIL Concert and Sightreading today! The band received Superior (1) ratings overall in both Concert and Sightreading.

This band has grown so much this year and played very well today— help us congratulate them for their hard work!!!

Our Concert Band received Superior ratings for both the Concert and Sightreading portions of their UIL Contest today! This is the first time in Wayside history that Concert Band has achieved this high honor.

WHAT A DAY!

We are so proud of our Honor Band for an outstanding performance at the 2025 Music For All National Concert Band Festival. They have represented Wayside Middle School, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, and the City of Saginaw well.

We had a special surprise in rehearsal this morning: the Shaffer family surprised Dr. Shaffer with a visit from his high school band director!

Scott Cressley is now on the music faculty at William Penn University in Iowa. We are so glad he is with us today!

We made it to Indianapolis and we’re ready for Opening Ceremonies for the 32nd Music For All National Concert Band Festival after adventures in the Circle Centre Mall and at Cracker Barrel this morning.
