Our goal is to spread our green causes while conserving & enjoying nature; while growing a Community and aiding locally in socioeconomic ways. A percentage of the proceeds goes to The Chicago Safe Place & I - Kan Help Charities. Creator's Bio:
I have been a musician since the age of 6; playing piano, writing lyrics/poetry & singing for community events, recitals, school functions & talent shows. I had traveled to my family's land(future home of Festival of the Trees 2x.) Around 20 years old, I moved from the West suburbs to Chicago, and started singing, recording & performing for Stoner-Rock band 13 flowers, then unto Strange Ranger & some one-off performances throughout Chicago. While also working for Jam Productions,Lollapolooza & Viacom International and touring with Virgin Records. In between, I had gone camping with my musical friends on my family's land, and felt a significant draw to it's beauty & its affect on me - I wanted to share the feeling. In 2007, Festival of the Trees was born - after 2 months of individual planning & promotion (solo) without a website, volunteers or budget or any kind: 15 bands, 2 DJs, Belly & Fire Dancing was born. In its first year approx 150 people came out for the 3 Day event. After some time off, in 2011 Festival of the Trees re-emerged with the above in place & In - Kind Sponsorship from Honest Tea, Metropolis Coffee, Mr. Beef & Tipsycake and Partnerships with I - Go Car Sharing & Kankakee Community College. Like most Start Ups, we overshot, and are resigned to "crawling before we walk," and working on the Grassroots Communal aspect of this event wherein lies why I'm reaching out to you with help for 2012!
