Happy New Years everyone! 🎈

I’m on the board for St Francis House/port in the storm.

We are celebrating our 40th anniversary serving St. John’s County this year and looking for an event venue space for 100 people mid week we can be flexible on the date. Obviously, since we are nonprofit and this needs to be affordable as all of the profits are going to provide for our homeless population.

She’s BBBAAAACCCKKKK…

🔨Built in 1879 as a private home for George Colee, Scarlett O’Hara is an infamous landmark of St. Augustine.

Mr. Colee commissioned his wooden house for his bride to be, but an affair took place and the wedding was called off.

🛁After some time, Mr. Colee courted a new lady and moved her into the house. But this was very short-lived - as one morning Mr. Colee was found dead in his bathtub.

Foul play was, and always has, been suspected.

🛏️Mr. Colee’s presence is often noticed to this day. He frequently it seen downstairs and upstairs moving barstools and small tables. He taps ppl on the shoulder in the men’s bathroom upstairs, and has been heard groaning. It’s believed to be the last sounds he made while still alive.

🗝️Today this home is registered on the National Directory of Haunted Places and houses a fun, historic restaurant and ghost bar upstairs. After some extensive renovation and new ownership, she is NOW open downstairs!

🕯️Even though Scarlett’s has been temporarily closed, the new owners are ready to welcome guests. Mr. Colee and the spirits have missed you…and YES the lion footed bathtub that he drowned in is still there!
