St. Francis KS Concert in the Park

Now that we have had time to catch our breath we would like to take the time to thank everyone for helping make St. Francis KS Concert in the Park 2024 (6th year) another big success. The evening was absolutely beautiful with the gorgeous weather we were blessed with. The opening band Next Tüezday did a great job as always and for Larry and I it was so cool to get to watch our daughter Taylor Kennedy play Bass Guitar along side the very talented Janelle Irwin and the guys (Mike--Drums, Connor--Guitar/Keyboard) Next Tuezday always puts on a great show. Jake Gill put on a great show with a lot of interaction with the audience. We would like to thank the City of St. Francis employees for all their help with maintaining the park and getting us the benches/trashcans, etc. A big shout out to Dan Blair for coming to our aid several times before and during the concert. We would like to thank all the vendors for coming out and keeping all the people fed and hydrated. Thank you to the SFCHS Cheerleaders for doing the face painting...we saw a lot of really cute painted faces. Thank you to Brandee Sasse for bringing something new to the game this year with her 3D photo booth. Thank you to Gary Wyatt for setting up the games for all to enjoy. A big thank you to all the sponsors of this event...without them we could not make this happen every year. And finally a huge shout out to all those who came and helped with the prep work before and clean up after. It takes a lot of time and work to get things ready every year for this big event and we appreciate every bit of help we get. So thank you to our daughter Tay who came out 2 weekends in a row to help, my sister, Cheryl L Platt Thompson who came from Manhattan again to help, Amber M Havel and her twins (and their friends), Kelly Lampe and his crew (Danny & Dennis), Angela Marie Hankins, Dan Blair & Jennifer Blair, Austin Morris, Roger Neitzel, and Janelle Irwin. We hope we didn't miss anyone. Thank you to Allison Grice & Tammy Grice for their work on making the concert posters. A great BIG thank you to all of you who came out and supported the concert and all the vendors. Jake messaged me and asked me to share his message with everyone. The weather is going to be perfect for an outdoor concert so make your plans to attend! 🙂

We will have 4 food vendors...Warpath BBQ, Trav's Crafthouse, Farmer's Market (Steak Skewers & Hotdogs), Class of 2027 (Meal)

Other vendors include:

Caribbean Crush (Shaved Ice), Warpath BBQ will have ice cream for sale also, Cheyenne Movie Theater Popcorn & Candy, Water & Pop Vendor, Lemon Lane Lemonade Vendor, and a Beer Garden. All vendors will be serving starting around 6pm CT.

There will be a 3D Photo Booth that sounds like a really fun thing to do to create and save memories of that night.

There will be games to play such as Corn Hole, Connect Four, Volleyball, etc. and face painting starting at 6pm CT.

The SFCHS Cheerleaders will be doing Face Painting as a money making project.

Opening band Next Tüezday will start in the park area at 6pm CT

We are kicking off the summer with a solo performance by Janelle Irwin from the band Next Tuezday on Saturday, May 25th at 7:30-10PM CT. If you haven't heard her sing before you are missing out! Come on out for a fun evening of great music! There will NOT be any vendors for this concert so pack you a cooler with water/soda and snacks! 🎵🎤🎸🎵
