Dahlia days are near!
Our Sweet William is looking the best it has ever looked right now! It’s like a mini bouquet on each stem with the sweetest scent. So excited to see it flourishing this year!
I just can’t get enough of these Lisianthus! I’m so glad we took the chance on the hoop house, tried growing our own Lisianthus from seed again with seeds from . Both were a bit of a risk.. but the risk is proving to be worth it!

After years of ordering plugs we decided to start our Lisianthus from seed this year and planted some of them in the hoop house. They are truly the most beautiful Lisianthus we have ever grown. One of the many benefits of having Tim around full time! Starting seeds is not my gift, but he makes it happen and then I get to design with these long lasting elegant blooms. A favorite of mine for sure. Yay!

Ranunculus… I’m not sure there is a flower with more petal power. They just seem endless. These beauties are quickly becoming my favorite spring bloom!

We have Sweet Peas growing on our farm successfully for the first time ever. The Stock smells amazing and the colors of the Ranunculus and their seemingly endless petals are blowing us away with super long stems. My favorite Lisianthus; Roseanne 3 Brown inspired my latest winter project. The farmhouse we live in is a constant work in progress. We do almost all the work ourselves so it usually waits until we are available to work on it. We’ve left the first floor mostly untouched since we moved in as we focused on the 2nd floor the last several years. I’ve been obsessing over this color called “Pressed Flower” from @sherwinwilliams for over a year now and finally had the courage to give it a try. I’m a sucker for a good before and after so thought I’d share this with you all just in case you are too. I love the refreshing feeling I get when I walk through the hallway now. Also loving the way the distressing I did on the front door connects to the faux beam we installed a year or so ago. The before picture of the hallway is from the first time I saw the house and began dreaming of it’s potential. My sister and I added the luxury vinyl tile from @loweshomeimprovement a few years ago. One of the most often asked questions we get here @homeplacefields is, What do you do in the winter? Well besides cleaning out the dead plants, digging up tubers,planting spring bulbs, planning for next season and resting.. we take the time to learn and expand our skills. I’m taking an online course from @passionflowersue as I’ve been a long time admirer of her work. This course focuses on wearables. I’ve just used the last of the flowers from the cooler and created a few pieces inspired by this course and these will be professionally photographed tomorrow. 😅 No pressure! Once in awhile I get a phone call from someone who has just learned about us for the first time. The excitement in their voice is incredibly encouraging, a reminder of why we do what we do. Some sweet women visited later that day to personally pick out specific flowers for their dear friends funeral. What an honor to create something just for them, inspired by them, to leave as their final goodbye.
