The Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church known as Mindekirken is one of only two Norwegian Churches in the United States that continues to provide services in the Norwegian language! They recently celebrated their 100th anniversary.

We loved the inspiration for this sweet elopement. Inger wore a traditional Norwegian wedding dress called a bunad.

Flying in all the way from Norway Inger & Geir!
After 20+ years together they honored Minnesota by tying the knot at the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial church and Norway House. Following the ceremony they headed to The Eagles Concert! We were so happy to be a part of this sweet elopement!

We had a wonderful time working with Artful Events & Design Brooke Elisabeth Photography and so many others on this styled shoot!

The simplicity and organic nature of this shoot is what pulled it all together.

Often times we start with a big picture - we can see it in our minds before we know what the perfect elements are. We’re thinking about the texture, curvature, visual weight, shades and tones.
In this shoot we used primarily olive branches- not an uncommon variety of greenery in the floral industry but we love it here. It’s natural curvature perfectly frame the bride and groom. It’s not always about the product you’re using but how you’re using it.

A fun fact about Megan: she is incredibly skilled at finding these perfect elements!

We’re so grateful for the holiday season!
Even though we’re not out foraging and carrying buckets of flowers across lawns we’re hunkered down doing the other important things like book keeping, going through photo galleries, and creating beautiful proposals and design boards for our amazing 2024 couples!

While we love freelancing for some of the most recognized designers in the Twin Cities area, starting The Tiny Florist will let us bring all of our crazy, creative ideas to life. All of the pieces started falling into place the more we worked together and discussed our future dreams.
Alissa has years of experience running weddings and events at a respected floral studio in Northern Minnesota. Megan has worked for some of the most respected floral designers in the Twin Cities area. Our design aesthetics, passion for unique out-of-the box floral design and work ethic all matched up and we kept saying, “we should go into business together!”
Well, were finally doing it and we can’t WAIT to collaborate with you to make your event stunning! We are now booking events for 2024.

We are now booking events for 2024! We are Alissa Trego and Megan Barker and we have joined together as The Tiny Florist partnership.

We have combined forces to share our love for floral design and our determination to push creative boundaries. We are thrilled to bring our exciting design ideas to your event!

We met working freelance jobs for some of the most respected floral designers in the Twin Cities and pretty quickly realized that we both have experiences and backgrounds that make us perfect partners in The Tiny Florist. Oh, and we just really like working together!

We are nature lovers and as a result we appreciate and gravitate toward a naturalistic design style, but we also love thinking outside of the box to create floral experiences that are unique and breathtaking.
