Last month, the Minnesota Humanities Center, along with many of their partners and sponsors, came together to commemorate Juneteenth at @st.pauleventcenter . The 2024 Juneteenth Brunch featured Bakari Sellers and included brunch, conversation, and a book signing.Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day and America’s second Independence Day, marks the end of slavery in the United States. It became a federal holiday in 2021 and a Minnesota state holiday in 2023.
