I’ve been thinking about all the moms in my life as I’ve been getting these tulips ready for bouquets next weekend ❤️ Missing my own mom, excited for the moms-to-be in my life, grateful for the many women who’ve mothered me, cheering on all the moms in the daily grind of caring for littles or continuing to parent through different seasons in life. Motherhood can be so hard-you are all amazing and strong 💪🏻 Keep on! 😘

Seriously one of the biggest highlights of my year!! We got to have a visit with garden guru Bobby Jensen (co-host of Kare11’s Grow with Kare). Lots of laughing and garden talk and Bobby shared some of his amazing life experiences. Time to catch up quick! Peony season is long gone but it was fun while it lasted.
Found my first sleeping bee of the season while cutting in the cosmos patch 😴 The bees and their personalities are one of my favorite aspects of the garden. This baby slept all the way thru its photo shoot. 🥰
Spring things 🥰 Ranunculus, anemones, lilacs and daffodils.
Ranunculus are my absolute favorite and they’re tricky to grow. They don’t like the heat so I feel lucky to have some blooming. I’ve had them under shade cloth for weeks trying to keep their soil cool.
Second delivery for my trial flower subscription group: tulips and daffodils with crab apple and lilac stems. I created a giant mess on my kitchen table prepping them before work. Even the mess is lovely!
I had a blast making and delivering tulip bouquets today! The bulb supplier shipped me the wrong colors for a few of these (which I didn’t find out until they bloomed!) but they seemed to turn out ok. Looking forward to the next bunch! 🌷🌷🌷

Spring things
Endangered species sighting! My sister and I were out scouting for potential hobby farm areas when we ran across this beauty - a whooping crane! One of 600 in the US! They can be 5’ tall with a 7’ wingspan. She called a wildlife photographer friend who jumped in her car and caught up with it and its mate and noticed they have a nest. Hopefully they’re adding another whooping crane to the count. 🐣 I’m lucky my sister has had so many unique experiences in life like working at the International Crane Foundation. She knew exactly what we were looking at when I was clueless. ❤️ Kris Svenson Chew
