Congratulations to adjunct faculty member Benjamin Yats, who has completed the requirements for the Doctor of Musical Arts in Percussion and a minor in Portuguese from the University of Wisconsin - Madison! Dr. Yats' dissertation project was titled "Synthetics" and consisted of five commissioned works with composer Ryan Elvert for non-western percussion instruments, electronics, and improvisation. At UNW, Dr. Yats teaches private percussion, drum set, and Percussion Methods, and coaches Jazz Combo.

Sixteen members of the Northwestern Choir-St. Paul, MN together with Prof. Tim Sawyer had the privilege of singing in four amazing sold-out performances of Christmas at Wooddale this past weekend under the baton of conductor Dr. David Donelson. The Wooddale Choir and Orchestra were joined by stellar guest artist and her husband and former NW Choir member Nathan Johnson (UNW '05) who also sang a duet together. The program, "Here is Hope" combined all of these special gifts together into a thrilling program of hope in Christ.
