Line Dance Classes are resuming today! Put on your dancing shoes (or sneakers) and come on down The St Pete Beach Community Center and learn line dancing. Tuesday's classes are Beginner class is 9:30am-11am, New to Line Dancing is at 11:15am-12pm. Thursday's Improver Class is from 9:30am-11am.

Tomorrow Night: The City of St. Pete Beach will be hosting a 4th of July celebration event to include fireworks show, a live music concert, and food & beverage service of which the proceeds will benefit the Veterans of South Pinellas.

The event will take place on Thursday July 4th in Horan Park (7701 Boca Ciega Drive) beginning at 6PM. The fireworks display will be based at the east end of Corey Avenue, with both Horan Park and the 300 Block of Corey Avenue hosting the official watch parties. This block will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning at 3PM on July 4th.

Smokin Renegade will perform musical tributes to Boston and Styx beginning at 7PM, with fireworks to follow at approximately 9PM. Food will be served at Horan Park by “Grillin & Chillin”, MCO Taqueria and Wich Press Food Truck. Additional food options and discounts will be available from Corey Avenue businesses.

Gretchen Johnson from the Parks & Recreation department!

Gretchen is our wonderful ambassador at the St Pete Beach Community Center. She greets everyone that comes into our classes, pickleball courts, and the fitness center with a smile and personal touch. Gretchen knows almost everyone by name. She is a big fan of public spaces where our community can gather and build relationships. That is one of the reasons she loves working here in beautiful St Pete Beach.

Fun Fact: Gretchen tries to watch sunrise and sunset every day.
