We are an event space located in the historic armory in the heart of downtown Saint Peter, Minnesota.

This 11,000 square foot historic building was renovated and redesigned specifically for weddings and other large group events. The beautiful mix of rustic and industrial makes the perfect backdrop for your event. It includes a 4,100 square foot main ballroom (The Capitol room), a 2,900 cocktail room (The Rock Bend Room), a beautiful bridal suite (The Lillien Lounge), a spacious groom's suite (The Rolette Room), a commercial kitchen area for catering vendors, and two sets of bathrooms.

Ring in the new year at the Capitol Room! Dawn yourself in your best Moulin Rouge Inspired/Masquerade Attire and dance the night away to performances by Silver Summer Band and DJ Shoba. We will all mourn another year gone and toast the New Year with Champagne as the clock strikes midnight. Enjoy some small bites, sweet treats and a cocktail (or three).

Don't worry, we will have a complimentary shuttle service making regular trips to and from The Wine Cafe in old town Mankato to The Capitol Room in Saint Peter. The shuttle service is first come first serve and departs from The Wine Cafe (Mankato) at 7:45, 8:30, and 9:15 pm. Return trips will start at 11:00 pm and go until 1:00 am.

We cannot wait to dance the night away with you!

Check out this fantastic photo! The St. Peter Armory, located on the east side of Minnesota Avenue, served as the first of Minnesota’s new armories in 1913.

Constructed following a Minnesota legislative funding bill in 1912, it was designed by St. Paul architect James F. Denson and built by St. Peter contractor Ole Fredricksen. Architecturally, the structure is an excellent example of Minnesota’s so-called “early period” armories, all of which predate World War I. The St. Peter Armory has a Medieval Revival-influenced design. Many of the nation’s pre-World War I armories were built in this style with fortress-like elements. It was formally dedicated in 1913 and served the community well throughout its history.

As you can see in the circa 1918 photo, a group of uniformed soldiers stands proudly in front of the armory, demonstrating the importance of this structure in the community. By the 1970s, the space had become inadequate, and a new armory was built in 1983. The original structure was converted to office space and would go on to be used by several local organizations and businesses.

Today, the original armory is known as The Capitol Room, a popular local event space. It’s amazing how this historic structure has transformed over the years!
