Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to bring awareness and appreciation to the Christians who are extremely supportive and loving towards gay people. It's unfortunate, but most of what we hear about Christians is the hurt that they've caused towards others. Although there are definitely those engaging in (stating this in the most PC way possible).... hurtful behavior... there are just as many who do truly amazing things to help others. Things like building wells and water lines in third world countries, creating community outreach programs for the poor, and supporting minorities like the lgbtq+ community.
In my experience it's a straight 50/50 split between Christians who act with love and kindness and those who.... To put it nicely: Completely missed the point of the Christian religion....... We just typically don't hear about the good 50% of Christianity because the Christians who live their lives with love and kindness are quietly doing good without bragging or an expectation of reward or acknowledgment. Additionally, those of the 50% Christian faith who.... aren't typically as nice as they should be..... Also tend to be really, really loud, have a habit of getting in people's faces, or are extremely good at manipulating and taking advantage of people. This leads to a lot of pain, so it's understandable about why Christianity gets a bad rap.
This is a picture of one of the many groups of Christians going around at Tampa Pride giving away free hugs, and telling everyone that God loves them and to ignore those who say otherwise. Even if you're not spiritual, hopefully we can all agree that being kind and accepting to others, fighting ignorance, and spreading love is a crucial part of both Pride as well as being human in general. Understandably, there's a lot of hates against the Christian church. Please know that although there are those in which this is well deserved, there are just as many whom have done nothing but spread love and goodness throughout their lives. Regardless of our backgrounds and beliefs, let's work together to spread love and be the change that we want to see in the world 😁😁😁😁.
