The combination of the generous donations by the community and the Williamson Ruritan, $1,000.00 was raised to help send Leena, JJ and Grace on a senior mission trip. We enjoyed having them help prepare for an ice cream social. Safe travels and God bless

Williamson Ruritan president Bob Brindle (right) would like to thank current member Tom Sollenberger (left) who is the manager of Hord Family Growing Farms for a great presentation. Tom manages the first stage that involves caring for the mother sow and the birthing of the piglets, with an average of 2,400 piglets a week. Thank you for a great presentation!

Williamson Ruritan members Pat and Darryl Shaffer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 7th. Congratulations!

Penn State THON is fully student run philanthropic initiative that supports the Four Diamonds Fund for children diagnosed with cancer. When a family becomes a Four Diamond family, they never see a medical bill, they have music therapy and receive support needed to travel to the Hershey Children’s Hospital. The yearlong fundraising initiative culminates to a 46 hour no sitting no sleeping dance marathon held in February. Renee Sollenberger is a senior studying Biological Engineering and a member of the Williamson Ruritan Club and danced during THON weekend in February. Renee has been a member of the Society of Women Engineers THON organization at Penn State for 4 years and wanted to dance in her last year at Penn State. SWE THON raised a total of $32,443.04 of the record breaking total $13,756,374.50. Renee is proud to have been able to stand for 46 hours alongside other students that believe in the same cause and dance so one day there is a cure for childhood cancer.
