Here are some other ways our clients have added special touches from their parents’ weddings.

With weddings it isn't always the more the merrier! Not only can a smaller guest count do wonders for your budget, it can also create a more intimate and personal day. With less guests you have a better opportunity to connect with your guests and be more present with the people who truly matter to you. Don't feel pressured to invite people you don't know well just because you feel like you have to!

Let's talk about repurposing flowers! It feels like this can be a bit of a hot topic.

This arch piece was repurposed as a tall stand arrangement for a reception tables. We are happy to repurpose florals and think that it can work well in certain situations. It feels less wasteful to use florals in two ways and it can also help stretch your floral budget to use the same pieces in different ways. BUT there are several things that need to be considered when thinking about repurposing flowers. We have lots of experience with repurposing florals and it has taught us a lot! Here are our tips for how to successfully repurpose your florals:

Discuss it with your florist! Some pieces are designed to be viewed from one side and might not look nice repurposed in a place with a 360 view. The mechanics of certain designs might make it difficult for that design to be moved and repurposed. Discuss your vision with your florist and ask if they have any ideas for repurposing. Trust what your florist says.

Discuss it with your planner/coordinator! Not all planners will move florals. There are many logistical things that the planner will need to address. Who will move the florals? Is there enough time and people to move the florals? How will larger pieces be transported?

Consider the temperature. Are the flowers going to be in direct sunlight? Some months are so hot and flowers that have been outside for several hours might not make it through the rest of the evening.

Have a solid plan for repurposing the florals. Know when and how they will be moved and where they will be moved to.

Let other vendors know about any florals that will be repurposed. Depending on what is being repurposed it might affect the catering team or the photography team. Making sure everyone is aware of the plan will be helpful.

Here's a little flashback to my very own wedding day FIFTEEN years ago today. Can't believe we have been married for so long! We were babies. It's a little strange to think back about my wedding planning journey now that I am a planner. While planning my wedding I was living in Lubbock, but planning a wedding in Austin and I had no idea what I was doing. It all worked out and we have great memories from our wedding.

Happy Anniversary! This sweet couple was so easy going and laid back. They also had their adorable twins as the ring bearer and flower girl.

One of the many behind the scenes things we do on a wedding day is help ensure that the flower girl and ring bearer make it down the aisle. At this wedding their litttle VIPs needed some encouragement down the aisle, so we followed behind them to help them make it down. Things don't always go to plan, but we are there to do whatever it takes to make it happen!

There are a lot of things to be considered when designing your tables. Catering details are especially important to the table design. There are many details that our clients don't realize will affect the look of their tables. Here are a few of the many things we discuss with our couples as they make decisions about catering and table design.

- Plated dinners will not have plates on the table because all of the plates will be in the kitchen. You could have a napkin on its own or you could have a napkin and a charger. You will also need a place card to let the servers know the entree selections for each guest.

- With a family style dinner you will need to be thoughtful about your centerpieces to ensure that there is plenty of room for the catering team to place the serving dishes.

- Buffet dinners have a lot of flexibility. You can have plates at the buffet or on the tables.

Absolutely loved this bride from our very first call. She said she wanted her wedding to feel like a summer camp, just all of her friends and family hanging out and spending time together. She chose the perfect venue and totally achieved her goal. Their wedding weekend was so great. I loved the way they focused on personalized details and spending time with their loved ones. It was such a joy filled day!

All of their table numbers were custom made signs with icons representing things about them and they were so cute!

We love all of our couples and are happy to support whatever is a priority to them! It’s just our favorite when our clients want to include unique details and when they focus on spending time together.

We both hate having our picture taken and I’m not a hugger… but this photo is amazing.

In case you don’t already know her, this is Mariah. She’s our primary assistant coordinator! She’s our go to girl! Mariah has been working with me since day one. She was literally at the the first wedding I ever did. I could NOT do this without her. She’s the most fabulous assistant coordinator to have on a wedding day because she’s just so good at her job!
