Let's get cooking!
Last year we brought the watermelon caviar to the masses. I love playing with foams, caviars, smokes and all the interesting food textures you don't see too often quite yet. Food is changing !

Extra factoid today : Because soy lecithin is not derived from wheat, rye, or barley, it is considered gluten-free by FDA standards. However, it is important to note that certain brands of lecithin may contain additives that are not gluten-free!

I understand that the food cart may have held a special place in your hearts, but I hope you’ll embark on this new journey with me.

I want to continue serving this community with the same devotion to quality and attention to detail that has been the hallmarks of our belated food cart.

When I announced the closure of our beloved gluten-free food cart, which brought smiles and delicious treats to the streets of our community, it was a sad day.

I had started OMM with every penny I had saved and convinced my friend to rent us a food cart.

In the short time we were around we won numerous awards and served over 4,000 gluten-free meals that were locally sourced from sustainable organic farmers!

With our initiative to avoid plastics and use bio alternatives, the gluten-free community saved Oregon from over 50,000 pounds of plastic waste choosing to eat with One In A Melon Meals!

The plan was to always expand but we simply ran out of time!

While the food cart may be gone, our passion for delivering exceptional gluten-free cuisine remains as strong as ever.

I introduce our latest adventure, with a community-driven roadmap that will one day get us to a full-service restaurant.

Our goal has always been to provide the joy of mouthwatering, gluten-free meals to as many people as possible.

Transitioning into a catering service allows us to further expand our reach, reaching new corners of our town and bringing our delectable creations to your most cherished gatherings and events

Hello friends, since we're closing down the cart soon I got an hourly job so new hours, we will be open from 11:30 to 7pm Tuesday and Wednesday and 11- 2PM Thursday thru Sunday. I am here today but tomorrow we will be closed for more construction.
Everything is 10% off today! We are out of salad today my apologies!

Edit post : Avery may be able to cover my weekend hours so we will try and stay open. If we can make $1500 by January we might be able to stay open until February. Just playing it by ear at this point. Thanks everyone. :)

Well my friends, it's time for another lesson in practicing non attachment! One In A Melon Meals will more than likely be closing down in January.

I started One In A Melon Meals with my friend Johnny because we wanted to bring farm fresh food that was nutritious, non GMO, and most importantly allergen friendly and safe for celiacs. However, we're not wealthy by any means.

We want to thank each and everyone of you that has come to visit and support the mission of creating a 100% safe place to eat in Salem.

My life savings has dwindled down to less than $100 and I can no longer afford to stay open.

While we may be shuttering the food cart, I want to keep One In A Melon Meals alive thru catering, pop ups, and eventually getting packaged meals into grocery stores -- it's just going to take a bit longer. :)

I was homeless from 14-18 until I saw a help wanted sign in a restaurant and started my cooking career.

I got absolutely annoyed at how many times we'd get a gluten free allergy ticket and the servers and other cooks would laugh as if it wasn't a serious thing.

I knew I wanted to eventually start my own contribution to the community and decided that was the wrong I'd attempt to correct.

We found a cart to lease and an amazing opportunity offered to us from the beehive, got on the front page of the statesman, catered some awesome events, but we have served less than 200 guests over the last 90 days and we haven't been able to find a financial backer that shares our vision.

With one week of our campaign finished we've raised $0 in funds.

It is my hope that me and Jonny return to the drawing board and do some pop ups in the Summer.

Or order us on Uber ( we have 0% comission with Uber rn. Door dash takes 70% of sales after marketing expenses)
