My first baby portrait. I was calling about a charge from a business I did not know. The man found my website and asked if I ever did children’s portraits. I said no. Then I thought, why not try? I really loved the reference photo he sent me. So this is the result.

A 2 year late wedding present for my nephew and new niece. A December wedding! It was before the pandemic, a Christmas wedding. I am not a live wedding painter. I get so many requests for that service. I paint from favorite photos after the event which allows me to work in my studio. Are these two not just charming and beautiful? Almost looks like they are from another century! ( except for the hip glasses! )

Covid has altered many wedding plans. If anyone has had an intimate wedding during this pandemic, a great way to preserve the memory is to commission a painting from one of the photographs. In some cases, the meaning and the moment are even more special. Life is uncertain, love is not.

A true destination wedding. Can you imagine riding a camel in a desert on your wedding day? A memory worth preserving. I had so much fun painting this. The reference photo that I used was taken by the one and only Tyler Rye .

This was one of the first wedding paintings I did. I used to go to the wedding and take pictures with my iPhone. I got all the wedding professionals really annoyed by getting in their way and I do not blame them. I was trying to get pro shots but I was not a pro. Over time I realized that the best paintings came from the gorgeous shots done by the hired photographer. Shots that could not be painted live, ones that were unique and artistic capturing fleeting light and/ or gorgeous landscapes or environments. If you have a photograph that already looks like fine art, that calls to be painted, that will be in an album or only seen on social media, consider a commission. I love to make great photographs come alive, always with permission and credit to the photographer.

This commission was so much fun to paint! The bride’s parents commissioned this as a present to the groom’s parents. The painting was created from a very blurry screenshot taken from a video. It signified a surprise dance that the bride performed for her groom on the night of the Sangeet, He eventually joined her on stage. “Mandy and Raj”

What makes what I do unique? I often hear that question from marketing experts. Well, this is it. An image that goes beyond the literal, that is about emotion and mood. Something that you could picture buying as a piece of art even if you did not know the couple. Something awe inspiring that reminds you of a particular moment that would be gone in an instant.
