30 days ago, we started this countdown with a 1919 Waterloo Boy tractor. Today we go almost full circle. This morning, we brought this exceptional 1919 tractor into the limelight for KATU News, which was here covering The Great Oregon Steam-Up! A big thank you to Oregon Vintage Machinery Museum for being great hosts this morning.

KATU's Wesleigh Ogle was back to add some fun personality to the morning! She attempted to hand-crank start the tractor and almost succeeded! Not seen in the morning segment was her driving the tractor a few minutes later. 🚜

We look forward to seeing you 👀 tomorrow at the 53rd Annual Great Oregon Steam-Up!!! Woo-hoo!

We're exciting to announce that we're hanging up our emergency packs for a few weeks and bringing the food truck out for one of our favorite festivals of the year!! Honest folks we're not slacking & hope to be back in the food truck sometime this summer. Last night we were honored to be presented an award by Woodburn Fire Chief & Mayor of Woodburn for service to the community during the Pandemic & wild fire season. It was humbling just to be in the building with fire fighters, medics, and Cert teams, let alone be acknowledged for service to others. Let's hope that this thing comes to an end soon and we can all safely return to semi-normal lives.

We're not sure how next season will go yet.....our favorite wine show in January had to cancel & it looks like the early spring 2021 events are questionable, but we're still hoping to see you during the late spring of 2021.

A message from 'Lady Bug' the Chez Alishon mascot:

I miss seeing everybody at the festivals, but mom, dad, and I have been keeping really busy.......Here's what we've been up to since the last time I posted.

In Sept. mom & dad were sent very close to the fire line up north of us....It was really scary, the sky was black & orange, and angry like I've never seen before and there was fire everywhere......., and even back at our house the smoke was thick and there was ash falling from the sky like snow for days & days.

Next, we were sent the Evac Center to spend a week or so helping the people who were escaping the fires....that was better, but so sad because many lost almost everything they had and only escaped with their pets. There were hundreds of animals there. and nice people came from all around to bring food and take care of them.

In October, after the fires were contained. we went to a little town in the mountains called Detroit a few times to make sure the people there had clean water to drink. There wasn't much left standing, even the local fire truck was burned to a crisp, but the people left up there were so nice and came over to pet me & say thanks for coming to help us.

Things have settled down a bit now. Mom & dad are still delivering food & checking on the health of people who can't get out during the pandemic, and doing a little COVID screening when there's an emergency, but they're also trying to stay home with me and rest a bit.........sometimes they get sad because of all the things they saw last year, and sometimes I get sad because they think I don't see that their packs & boots are back by the door waiting for the next phone call, but I do see & I know what it means!

I sure hope 2021 goes better for everyone. Stay safe & take care of each other........

Just an update on life under quarantine. (April 2020)

We're staying busy though!!! Mom & Dad are Medical Reserve Corp Medics and have been keeping us busy......so far we've worked as operators at the Emergency Call Center giving out medical advice to justifiably nervous people, we helped set up a large emergency field hospital to care for 'overflow' patients, completed 20+ hrs of state required continuing education, and this week we're making 'food boxes' at a local food bank & delivering them to 'shut ins' & doing wellness checks on vulnerable folks.......Whewww it's no wonder I'm so exhausted and in need of another nap!!!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Chez Alishon had a great summer which is allowing us to take a few months off. As many of you know we are very involved with Community Education, Emergency Disaster Response, and are Medical Emergency First Responders, as well as promoting the food truck industry with the Oregon Food Truck Association. We will be using the next few months to take care of our State/Federal EMS continuing education requirements & upgrading our emergency response equipment so that we'll be ready to deploy if needed.

We'll be back serving our 'Greek Treats' at First Taste Salem in January and may 'pop up' from time to time to help out some of our food truck friends.
