http://www.salemjazzsoul.org The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that funds music education programs and produces free concerts for the public. The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival is recreating and renewing the
vibrant jazz scene that began at the Salem Willows in the 1920s, when
Duke Ellington and other musicians from the Big Band era played at the
seaside park in M

assachusetts. The festival builds on this rich jazz
history — adding soul, blues and funk to the mix — by offering a series
of annual free concerts to the public, concluding with a festival each
year at the Salem Willows. The festival spotlights the wealth of talented
musicians on Boston’s North Shore, and has already attracted
thousands of music fans and extensive media coverage during its first
four years of operation.

Please support the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival on GivingTuesday (or before)

The free, nonprofit Salem Jazz and Soul Festival is raising money to fund the 2025 festival season, our 19th. Please consider donating to our nonprofit cause for GivingTuesday, Dec. 3.

It’s the time of year when we try to be just that little bit nicer, a smidge more thoughtful and much quicker to smile. Why not bank some of that good cheer for Summer 2025?

is a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.” Here on the North Shore, it’s helped not-for-profits like our upcoming 19th annual Salem Jazz and Soul Festival put smiles on music students’ faces and fund hours of free music.

Last year, you donated generously to the cause on , which helped create a robust music-learning workshop at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem and powered a free day of music last August showcasing five internally renowned musical acts at Salem Willows.

Please consider pitching in this Dec. 3 (or before) and help us keep the music playing!

We deeply appreciate your support.

Danny, a sophomore at Endicott College, served as the festival's first-ever intern this summer and we were so impressed with his work ethic and sunny disposition. Thanks, Danny, and his advisors from Endicott!

For the 18th season, the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival blew festive tunes throughout the Salem Willows, celebrating the city’s historic connection to jazz and soul music. For his summer internship, Danny Marczewski ’27 was part of the team that made it come alive.

We were honored to provide Cynthia Napierkowski -- shown here at the 2016 Salem Jazz and Soul Festival -- with a $1,500 check for the Salem Music Boosters recently. This donation will allow Cynthia to continue to do good things for music in Salem schools. Combine this with the $1500 we recently budgeted to staff and equip a 10-week music workshop at Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem Massachusetts, and we've made available $3,000 to support music education in Salem in 2024. Please continue to support the festival going forward and together we can increase these amounts across the North Shore. (Photo credit: John Andrews.)

The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival board would like to thank all the stakeholders who made our 18th-annual festival happen -- board members past and present, volunteers, sponsors, musicians, vendors, brewers, all the Willows businesses, the residents of the Willows neighborhood, the city of Salem -- especially Joe and Trish at Parks, the DPW crew, the Parks and Recreation and Licensing boards, Mayor Pangallo, and the councilors who assisted us. So many of you supporters and audience members bring this volunteer-run festival to life every year. As the saying goes, we're only as strong as our weakest link, and judging from how well Saturday went, all of our links are solid. Thank you all!.
