Does The Shabby Chic Bride "BUY" dresses? Answer: No, we do not buy dresses, we consign them. What is consignment? Answer: We sell wedding dresses, formals, and accessories for people and then they receive a portion of the sale. Bring us your dresses or other items and we do the hard work of show, fitting, and selling the items for them. What is the consignment split? Answer: We do a 50/50 consignment on wedding dresses. So, when the dress sells we send you a check for 50% of the sale price. The selling price is mutually agreed upon when you bring the dress to the shop for evaluation. For all other items, the consignment split is 60/40 with 40% going to the consignor (you). Do you accept dirty dress? Answer: Cleaning fees apply to those dresses that are not show room ready. Fee will be assessed by TSCB during the evaluation and fee must be paid in advance of consigning the item(s). Wedding dress cleaning fees start at $60.00. Can I bring my family and friends with me to my appointment? Answer: Please do, but consider limiting the number. Remember, too many cooks spoil the soup and too many opinions, no matter how well-intended, lead to confusion. Should I get a sitter? Answer: We love children! However, if you are trying on wedding gowns we strongly suggest you leave the kids with a sitter. Choosing your wedding gown is one of the most important decisions you will make for your special day. When trying on gowns you will need to be able to focus without distractions. A bridal salon is not a fun place for kids and they will very quickly get bored sitting in one spot. This will end up distracting you and other guests from the ultimate goal of finding a wedding gown. A bridal salon is also NOT a safe place for children due to loose pins, beads, breakable items, and other hazards. Crying children also distract other brides on this important day. Unless trying on flower girl dresses for purchase children under 12 are not permitted in our bridal gown areas. Thank you for understanding. Will you hold a dress for me in case I am not sure? Answer: Yes, we would be happy to hold an item. We will hold any items that you wish to purchase for 24 hours. After that you must buy the item or put it on lay away otherwise it will be returned to the show room floor. Can I bring my bridal gown to you after the wedding for cleaning? Answer: Absolutely! For a fee we offer wedding gown cleaning. Simply bring your wedding gown to us. What is your layaway policy? Answer: There is a $15.00 set up fee, 20% down and 10% each month until the dress is paid in full. You may not take the dress or start alterations until the dress is paid for in full. We also support the men and women serving our country. To show our appreciation, we offer a 5% discount to all military personnel. Have more questions? Please give us a call at (503) 304-7030.
