The Salem School District K-12 Performing Arts Program comprises high-quality programming led by outstanding music educators. The district offers general music instruction in all five elementary schools from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. Students may begin band instrument instruction in grade five and string instruction in grade three. Elementary students in most buildings can also participate in a

Students can also continue or begin study in Strings. Extracurricular offerings such as Modern Band, select chorus, Color Guard, Musical, and other extracurricular opportunities are also provided. Salem High School also boasts a comprehensive course offering that includes traditional ensembles like Strings, Band, and Chorus, a structured pathway in Music Theory, and several "Lab" classes in guitar, music technology, voice, and piano. In addition, we offer theatre classes to students such as Introduction to Theatre, Acting, and Stagecraft. SHS Theatre Arts Club allows the school community to participate in full-staged productions, musicals, and drama competitions. Students have ample opportunity to perform throughout the year in our many concerts, events, and special performances. K-12 Performing Arts Department:
