Here are some Local Happenings this weekend in Salina!

FRIDAY, JANUARY 17th: Salina YMCA Sports is hosting a 70's themed Ladies Night! Dance Party with Line Dancing & Cardio Dance 💃 Snacks and prizes will also be available. 5:00 to 8:30 PM. FEE: $10/member; $20/non-member. Register at the front desk.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 18th: Historic Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS is hosting Rock 'N' Roll Meets the String Quartet at 7:30 PM. If you love rock or classical music don't miss Rock 'N' Roll Meets the String Quartet, an exciting collaboration where music and storytelling are woven together in a unique and entertaining presentation that's equal parts chamber music, rock show, and endlessly captivating TED talk-style discussion. Lipke leads the audience on a journey through the history of the String Quartet in classical music and deep dives into its influence in popular music, performing diverse selections from The Beatles, Beethoven, The Rolling Stones, Mozart, Haydn, Bartok, Radiohead, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground and more.

Andrew Lipke is a Philadelphia-based, South African-born composer, producer, arranger, conductor, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and educator active in many styles across multiple genres. He's graced the Stiefel stage multiple times both as a solo artist and with the fan-favorite Led Zeppelin tribute band, Get The Led Out.

This is truly a can't-miss show, offering a rare opportunity to hear Salina Symphony maestro Yaniv Segal perform with the Salina Symphony Quartet and to explore and celebrate the unique ways in which music transcends the boundaries of genre. Tickets starting at $32 (plus fees).

Hey, hi, hello 👋
We took a break from social media for the holiday and extended New Year but we are back!

Here are a few things to look forward to in 2025:

👉We're bringing back Local Merchant Monday, where we highlight products we've purchased from local businesses around Salina with an unboxing on Facebook LIVE, as well as Tip Tuesday and then local happenings Friday for the weekend coming up.

👉In addition to all of the amazing private events we host, we will also be bringing back events open to the public that have the purpose of connecting people in similar life stages and with common interests. In the past these events have been kiddo craft night, adult craft night, plant swap, book swaps! We're working on even more fun and diverse events for 2025, so make sure you're following our page and that your notifications are "on."

👉We're working on something super exciting and fun to add to our private event offerings, but we're not quite ready to share all the deets yet. Stay tuned though!

We can't wait to see all the incredible things 2025 has in store for Rosies and for all of our guests!

Oh, and a quick booking update: We are booked SOLID for May 17th, but still have a few weekend dates left in May for graduation parties. If you would like to secure a date for your graduation party, message us ASAP ☺️

Neighborhood News: The Salina Symphony will be performing Lights, Camera, Cabaret! TODAY at 4pm. Tickets available at the Historic Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS door.

The Salina Symphony meets Jazz in Lights, Camera, Cabaret! on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 4 pm at the Stiefel Theatre. Enjoy an opening number from the musical Cabaret featuring Maggie Spicer Brown and dancers from Theatre Salina followed by two new works by Kyle Saulnier, a Vermont based multi-instrumentalist and composer who fuses American music with industrial rock. After intermission, singer Janie Brokenicky, dancer Alison Hiatt, and a Greek Chorus from Kansas Wesleyan University will join the orchestra in the telling of Kurt Weill’s The Seven Deadly Sins, a work that uses wit, theatrical flair, dancing, and cabaret music to explore the complexities of human nature and society.
