My first post in 3 weeks, I’m not good at taking pretty pictures when we’re busy and May in it’s usual fashion has kept us running. Mother’s Day, graduations, dance recitals, nurses week, teacher appreciation week, and I’m sure I’m missing some other events in there all seem to happen within a 2 week period! That being said, we’ve had a lot of short notice orders lately looking for specific flowers. If the flower is in season I can get it but need at least 7 days to get it to Salina. If I were in a big city I probably wouldn’t even have to make this post as there are plenty of wholesalers and flower markets in all the major cities. Sitting in the middle of Kansas 90 miles from my closest wholesalers makes this business a lot harder! There have been days I’ve called both my wholesalers I use daily and asked for something as simple as baby’s breath and they’ve both been sold out. I try to keep a variety of flowers on hand but I can’t keep it all and sell it in the short amount of time we have to sell a perishable product. So if it’s your anniversary and your partners favorite flowers are white peonies and yellow tulips please don’t wait until the day of to order it, we can get it but I need a week to make it happen for sure. Super long post but I’ve been meaning to put this reminder out there for quite some time!

We’ve been struggling with our little state flower for the past month, the sunflowers have been showing up tiny, not opening and dying or just straight up frozen from the extreme cold we were having. Today the sun is shining and the suns are looking happy again, things are looking up!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! We hope you enjoyed our window display this year, this was my late Aunt Sandy’s Dickens Village collection (a small part of how much she had) we decided to display it for all to enjoy as they walked around our beautiful downtown! I’m always sad when the holidays are over and it all has to come down.
We will be closed Tuesday the 26th as well for a much needed rest day and reopening on Wednesday Dec.27th.
