Introducing Nichole Pequeño, our newest Artist in Residence! Nichole is coming on as a creative writing artist. She is also a visual artist. Look for upcoming creative writing classes with Nichole!
Other biographical information for Nichole:
Nichole Pequeño is an Indigenous Futurism artist originally from Chicago where she studied printmaking, wearable arts and design. Currently, she utilizes painting, printmaking, and photography into her artwork. Pequeño's art is influenced by her culture, historical nostalgia mixed with the present and future.

We bring art to the places in our community which would not otherwise have the resources to experience its benefits. Art improves cognitive function in Alzheimer's patients; Art improves fine motors skills for autistic children; Art helps people with severe emotional distress to process trauma when their hurt is too deep for words.

Please consider donating to Art & Soul Rowan this giving season! Remember that Art is more than just an extra. Our programs have really made a difference in the lives of troubled youth. Students in our Art program at Henderson Independent High School have higher grades, fewer absences and less discipline problems. This year student at Henderson made a short film that won best Script at the Monster Film Festival in Charlotte!
