Excessive DIY Projects: Rent instead of DIY if it’s the same cost, or if DIY is overly complex, buy it.
Professional Photographer/Videographer: Skimping on these services can result in missed or poorly captured moments. Also hire a videographer it’s worth the money!
Vendor Reviews: Not thoroughly researching and vetting vendors might result in terrible services. There are a lot of people out there who are looking to make a quick buck, and don’t have the experience to give you an excellent service. Do. Your. Research.
Neglecting Comfort: it’s a LONG day! Choosing those beautiful yet uncomfortable shoes or attire can make the day less enjoyable. Wear things you’ll be comfortable and confident in!
Skipping Makeup/Hair Trials: Not doing a makeup or hair trial can result in disappointment on the big day. To save money, do your trial on the day you’re doing engagement photos or bridal photos so you can get use out of it!!
Guest list: choosing your guest list is one of the hardest things! Saying “No” is okay. Don’t let someone pressure you into inviting people who will make your day uncomfortable.
Plan B: Not having a backup plan for unexpected weather conditions can lead to regrets and extra stress. Don’t expect the weather to be perfect and plan in advance.
Straying from your wants: don’t let someone else convince you to not have your day your way! It’s a one in a lifetime experience so make sure everything you want on your day is there!
Wedding coordinator: Friends & Family don’t have the skills to manage if something goes wrong. They won’t know what to do if a vendor doesn’t show up. They don’t know your vision so it will ultimately end up on your shoulders, making your day way more stressful and unhappy.
Private moments: yes, weddings are to celebrate with your loved ones but what about YOUR love? Take 2- 10 minute breaks throughout your day with just you and your partner, soaking in the day!
This was the cutest thing I’ve seen at a wedding! This destination wedding had a break in the middle of the day. The guests got together and choreographed a 3 1/2 minute dance for the bride and groom and then included the couple at the end of the dance!! It was so cute, everyone loved it and such a unique and sentimental way to share their love for the couple!!
